I never claim to be opposed to people bringing Korans to school. That would be your side that only seems to fight against the Bible being brought to school, but yet you pose this question becuase you would apparently welcome the Koran with open arms while hypocritically not allow the Bible.
In the U.S. there's this thing called the separation of church and state that's guaranteed
in the 1st Amendment.
"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof."

We're free to practice religion we just can't force our beliefs on others in a public school.
It doesn't matter what religion.

Bringing a Bible to school isn't forcing beliefs on anyone. Prohibiting Bibles in school is the violation of the 1st amendment.

Why do you leave out important details? He said he was trying to convert
people on school grounds! And he was a coach!

How would you like it if someone brought the Koran to school and tried to convert you?
Did I ever say I tried to convert someone? Everyone approached me and asked what I was reading so I told them a strait answer...

Seriously you need to learn to read and not insinuate the worst possible scenario.

What's wrong with learning science in science class and religion in church? If you
don't want your children in a public school system then homeschool them.
First I mentioned evolution...not science.
Second we did homeschool our child.

And technically "homeboy" is suppose to be hyphenated... 'Home-boy"

Also your sentence should read like so...
Chill out there home-boy: I was not quoting your post nor directing the comment at you.

Anyone can correct grammar, it is not hard... I use short hand because I think people are intellectual enough to understand.

Actually shorthand tends to make you look less intellectual, except to others who write the same way. But they look less intelligent as well. So, you all end up looking less intelligent as a whole.

I suppose your ok with the public school system pushing evolution on your/our children?
I actually have no problems with schools teaching evolution. Its not a salvational issue and I could equally teach my children creationism.

I disagree strongly with evolution but I do believe public schools should provide a variety of beliefs. I don't expect them to teach Christian material but I do expect them to provide choice. After all, they go on and on about wanting children to think critically but then don't provide an alternative. That is disingenuous.

Why don't people in the UK take religion as seriously as the US.

My town for example is an average size town. There are a few churches but only about 10 people go to them. Religion isn't mentioned at all, nobody is concerned with anyone else's belief and the schools here teach all religions without giving any bias towards any particular one.
A recent census shows only 24 percent of the uk population regard themselves as religious.
Not religious? Good . Religion = bondage
God does not want religious Christians, He wants people searching for a relationship with Him.
It's sad when churches are empty though, but I must say my experience is different from yours.

I moved to Scotland about a year ago. When there are three churches within 200m, it would be kind of difficult to fill them all in a small town, if all of the towns population could fit in one. The only thing I have noticed which is negative, is that the churches seem more separated here, people only go to one place, and shy away from other churches.

A friend and I tend to switch between three churches, and if we are out of town on a Sunday, we go to whatever we find. By doing so we have been in the Church of Scotland, Methodist churches, evangelical churches, charismatic churches, Episcopal churches + other catholic churches. They seem to have more in common than differences. Only one (of our regular churches) is almost empty, the other ones we have been in tend to be fairly full.

Maybe we're just good at finding full churches? :D

Do you think they should teach all the world's creation stories then?
It's only fair isn't it?

That's funny, when I search the internet and actually look at the evidence
it's clear that it is science. That's why SCIENTISTS declare it the basis of
all modern biology. Sorry, I don't take your word over people who do
science for a living.

Hmm... maybe not. Maybe they should be catered to the country.
