I do but I use dry highlighters and pencil only. Why not pens? Because in my first marked up Bible I wrote in it with the same pen that I was taking notes with, when God cleared my vision enough that I understood some passages I couldn't erase my backwards thinking about God. Now that I am far enough away from that mindset I can look back on how far God has brought me, however, there are some thought patterns that I never want to think through again.

Awesome question. :D
It is thru the chaos of my note taking
-that His words become more clear.

If I tried drawings like Joidevivre does, lightning would consume my bible and I.

On the first drawing, I sat in silence for at least a full minute waiting for just what I did not know - but nothing happened. I have become much more bolder as time goes by. No burning bush. No voice heavy with warning.

Now, I can't read without seeing a picture over the words. Would you call it "Drawing on the presence of the Lord"?

On the other hand, when this happens, one is able to clearly see their spiritual growth and understanding..........could be a blessing in disguise...........dunno............could be?
