Perhaps the real horror is comparing the first century church to the falling away. :rolleyes:

I believe only water should be allowed in the church sanctuary. Worship service is not a like a movie where you sit back and enjoy popcorn.

There is usually a reception area or another room where food/drinks may be allowed. I have no comment on what type of food, and I don't think the church providing/selling food at minimal cost is bad. I have been to a church where they offered potluck meals before an afternoon service (every week).

Well, that's how it was done while I was one of the volunteers... the meeting started at 10 am on Saturday morning, and I would pick up my fellow volunteer at 8 am to do the weekly shopping for these goodies. We did hope to snag the stragglers who came for the food and coffee, and it was a popular meeting besides all that, also, or possibly in part because of all that. We had approximately two hundred in attendance every week! And we did all enjoy the goodies...

quite benevolent to the community. so you have the bagels & cream cheese, now all you need is the lochs & onions!
