GiantOne,

Great post!

God Bless you and the Holy Spirit be with you!

Christ saved me from alcoholism and I am eternally grateful.
Every day I praise God for deliverance from all my substance addictions.

If the wild animals on my land used intoxicants, they would be destroyed by predators.
Satan is a predator, too.

Thank you for being an encouragement to me today.

GiantOne, I hate alcohol too. I had a drink over a year ago and when I did it was wine with seltzer water in it and even THEN I felt bad about it. I was at my sister's house and she continually asked me to drink it and I finally did. It was a stupid move on my part, because I knew that I didn't want to, but ever since then I haven't touched it. It does ruin families, friends and it seems everything it comes in contact with. When I said that its ok for people to have a drink now and then I mean, of course, as far away from me as they can get. I don't believe that the Lord will punish them for having one, but I in no way condone it. From your post I can tell that you've dealt with the nightmare that is alcohol...good job giving that up! Praise God for giving you the strength to do so.

Oh and for the record....I've never had a drinking problem. I had to deal with someone who did. It was a nightmare.

I've got a bottle of sloe gin, scotch and bourbon. The only problem for me is how to decide what to open first.
