"Believe it or don't", I actually remember elementary school and making Valentines for everyone in the class. I can even remember asking mum, "Why do we make them for today when we are supposed to treat them nice everyday"? "Do you treat all of them nice every day", she queried? "Well, no, but I don't like all of them", I replied. :p I was a bad boy, but honest. I guess.

It's a nice holiday, as they all are, when they are celebrated with love for others. It's nice to have a reminder, once in a while, that we are supposed to show our love or no one can see it.

What is it about fall that makes me want pumpkin pie with whipped cream and watch scary movies?

This thread is where you can post about whether you enjoy a Holiday or not..... come on you know you want to... As my second anniversary to CC is fast approaching I thought I'd give you a thread to post your views and you know which Holiday is next up on the chopping block... Halloween.... have at it....
I'm really looking forward to December 15th. It's a day set side to celebrate the unsung heroes in the world.

It's Cat Herder Day!

But the best holiday of the year is tough for me to choose between. One we just celebrated a couple of weeks ago. (Teddy Bear Day.) One will be such a long wait to celebrate it again. (Chocolate Day.) Another one has yet to be created. (Raspberry Day.)

They even have a day set aside for people like me. January 10th.

Do you think CC should really celebrate that day? It seems their users are my kind of people.

Not to mention Mother's day and Father's day. Let's take just one day to honor the parents you have. Really? Just one day we're supposed to honor thy mother and father? I don't think that's what the ten commandments say.
What I get a kick out of is for Mother's Day everyone takes Mom out for dinner. For Father's Day, Dad's supposed to buy the meat and then grill it himself. lol

Thats a good idea. My church has a trunk or treat event where they have games for the kids, then a Bible lesson/introducing the Bible to kids who have never heard, then letting them go around a bunch of car trunks to get candy. A lot of people bring their kids to that because it is safer than going door to door.
From what I hear, the best Halloween ever in Philly was the one where kids didn't have time to trick or treat. The Phillies had a big parade right down the center of town after winning the World Series. 2 million people left our city about the same time. (Our city only has 1.2 million.) So everyone got stuck. Kids wore their outfits to the parade, but never had a chance to go trick or treating afterwards. From what I heard, they didn't care too much either.

Best Halloween ever! All those adults with bags and bags of candy and no one to give them too. lol

Halloween is my absolute favorite holiday! I love everything about it(decorations, costumes, tv movies, etc.) I have to buy the candy, even the day after when it's on sale lol. And of course I have to watch The Nightmare before Christmas.

My least favorite would be Thanksgiving. Just not into the food(other than pumpkin pie <3) and the weather is usually gloomy. At least I can count on 3 football games that day :D.
Three? THREE?

Dallas. Detroit. ???

Come on! Is that fair? Isn't two more than enough?

We have a scary thing on TV all day. The Pope is in town, so we get full coverage. (Big whoop.)

My grandmother was a twin. Her sister told her licorice is made from the candy they sweep up off the floor at the end of the day.

Gram lived to be 89 years old and could never eat licorice. She obviously figured out her sister was teasing her, but she just couldn't talk herself into eating it.
