hahaha hahaha I'm sorry that I take this funny but honestly seizures is a head hurt and mind altering problem, intentional pain really isn't a good idea though I already cause pain through popping joints.
And not to mention people with epilepsy like me tend to have "anxiety" so it could cripple someone before even getting the needles put in just through worrying if I'd be ok so I wouldn't think it a good idea for any epileptic person no offense.
Seriously I'd have to be knocked out or on anesthesia to even try it.

I had acupuncture for something else and didn't feel anything... just a slight prick on the skin. Nothing. Just close your eyes, Joe :) Actually, acupuncture is a great stress reliever and lots of patients with epilepsy have reported great results, fewer seizures as a result. Worth a try :)

I saw a guy swallow his tongue once when I played contact rugby(many moons ago). He had some seizure and it took us about 10 minutes (eventhough it felt like hours) to get his tongue out of his throat. It was scary and unknown.

One of my housemates also had Epileptic seizures and before then I was never exposed to anything like that. His seizures were never bad but apparently it was more serious when he was younger.

If you're scared of the needles you could try some of the Chinese herbs. Natural medicines are worth looking into...

Me and needles don't get along well. There's no way on earth that I would try acupuncture..

Have you thought about trying traditional Chinese medicines, specifically acupuncture? The acupuncture is used to treat a lot of health issues, and epilepsy is one of them. Some have reported a reduction in the seizures as a result. Worth looking into, Blue and Joe.

The needles used in acupuncture are not like the needles they use in a syringe... The needles in syringes are bigger in diameter because they are actually hollow metal tubes that allow the medicine to pass through it... Acupuncture needles are super tiny, like as thin as a hair. I imagine that you'd barely feel anything at all... just like a mosquito bite.

I can see it all now I'd close my eyes..lay down on a pillow...then get jabbed like porcupine quills, and then tell the people how stupid it is,hmmm sure does sound like a stress reliever but only for psychiatric purposes, might as well I'd be paying the bill, hahaha hahaha!

Acupuncture has actually been proven to work. The chinese are good at healing with natural remedies. They've been at it for thousands of years. They're the oldest known civilization on earth.

I had acupuncture for my back pain, when my X-rays didn't show anything (they thought). It didn't help and another doctor looked at my same X-rays and saw the problem. I had a spinal-fusion done. Anyway, the acupuncture needles are so small you barely feel them.

I know it works,it's a matter of "could I stand it"?
I mean pain is one thing but waiting is a nuisance, like I said I would probably worry before the acupuncture and then during it I would probably get annoyed,it takes alot of pain but I can get upset, and then there's the "taking needles out" part, sitting still isn't exactly my strong suit especially in tense or bizarre circumstances.

I had the same Operation as you Deade, 14 months ago, Laminectomy of the Cervical Spine. I had Acupuncture on my back, knees, plus my left thumb. Most worked, but pain returned after a period of time. :(

Love & Hugs!

Hello Ladybug

My Wife is Epileptic and has been since early childhood. Fortunately she doesn't have serious seizures because they are controlled by Phenol Barbatone tablets. We have been married for forty two years and during that time she has had only one grand mal seizure. Having said that if she forgets to take medication for any length of time she has symptoms of experiencing
lights in her eyes and feels quite ill.

I do sympathise with youand keep you in my prayers.

*Phenobarbitol :)

Yes, I've been on that one too when I was a kid. Nothing worked until I got put on the meds I'm on now...

Thank you, tanakh. :)
