God says he says call no man a fool, but he does...God says thou shall not kill but he kills...god says dont repay evil
For evil but God has wrath....out of no where I feel like I'm losing faith again! How can someone explain this
God warns us about the effects of sin and allows death to happen so that we may come into our senses and realize that He is the Life and that we need Him in order to live. He does not kill, He allows sufferance, calamities and death to purify us from our idolatry/egolatry and remind us that we are His children and that we are heading to self-destruction when we chose sin over Him.
He wants to remind us that this world is not the ultimate reality. Remember when the rich man looked at his fortune and was satisfied with himself? God called him a fool because the rich man put his happiness in his fortune and forgot about his death. We all die and yet we idolize ourselves, our cars, our houses, our persona, our clothing style, our fortunes, our jobs, our political and religious concepts, we idolize pretty much everything. Instead of putting our hopes in eternal and absolute values, we put our hopes in the goodies and beauties of this world. And God reminds us that these goodies and beauties will putrefy and they don't come with us in the after life. God wants to free us from our illusions, passions and ambitions that end up with us, in the grave.
When we call our brothers fools, we do it out of anger and in order to insult them, not to help them. We belittle them. This is forbidden. Jesus Christ was speaking in a context when he said not to call our brothers fools. Christ raised the commandment "thou shall not kill" to a higher level. We can kill people not only with guns, but also with our tongues. So, before yelling mean words to our neighbors we should keep in mind that the wounds of the body heal faster while the wounds of the soul may never heal.
God doesn't have wrath. Wrath is a passion of the fallen man. The "wrath of God" from the O.T. is an anthropomorphism, aka the projection of human passions (that are typical for the fallen man) on God in order to emphasize the effects of the actions that are contrary to the law of God.
The flood, the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah are all reminders for us (like I said before) that we are dust. We also have the seed of God in us, but we ignore it. We, crazy, stupid, fool people, we chose the dust, instead of helping the growth of the divine seed in us.
For having a better understanding of how crazy we are, I recommend you a very good song called "Laughing with" by Regina Spektor. Its lyrics talk about how our lives depend on God but we ignore Him. We only remember Him in times of need, flood, wars, disease etc.
