Faith isn't blind. We don't testify of what we haven't seen, but what we HAVE seen, even that the Lord is good and the rewarder of those who DILIGENTLY SEEK HIM!!!

It reminds me of the parable our Lord gave. How the kingdom is like a woman who lost a precious stone, and looked all over for it, and when she found it she called up her friends and threw a party, because she had found her lost stone. And they rejoiced with her.

It was always a silly idea to me, how that I should blindly believe something. The case was that I was blind before I believed, but then my eyes were opened and my ears were unstopped. And it was Satan. People want to hear the date I was saved, or know the story of my salvation. I have no story, I have no date. But the story is that of Jesus Christ who died for me indeed, who also gave me NEW LIFE by his Spirit. And the date was the day he rose again for my justification. My story doesn't have as powerful a message as the story of Jesus, who lives in us again that same story, shaping us into his image, conforming us to his death. The Lord will cover me from harm. I know he will because he promised it in his Word. I know he will all the days of my life as I obey him and keep him FIRST!!

NO NO NO!! Don't listen to the lies, faith is not blind, in fact, faith can see more than the human eyes can. I don't know where it is, but I will find a verse, I know the Spirit has spoken it. Hold on.

Luke 18:40 And Jesus stood, and commanded him to be brought unto him: and when he was come near, he asked him,
Luke 18:41 Saying, What wilt thou that I shall do unto thee? And he said, Lord, that I may receive my sight.
Luke 18:42 And Jesus said unto him, Receive thy sight: thy faith hath saved thee.
Luke 18:43 And immediately he received his sight, and followed him, glorifying God: and all the people, when they saw it, gave praise unto God.

24 By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter;
25 Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season;
26 Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompence of the reward.
27 By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king: for he endured, as seeing him who is invisible.
Hebrews 12

Acts 3:16 And his name through faith in his name hath made this man strong, whom ye see and know: yea, the faith which is by him hath given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all.
Acts 3:17 And now, brethren, I wot that through ignorance ye did it, as did also your rulers.
Acts 3:18 But those things, which God before had shewed by the mouth of all his prophets, that Christ should suffer, he hath so fulfilled.

May Jesus bless you!

So true!
The only blindness is when one has no faith.

God bless.

One of the definitions of faith according to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary:

faith - firm belief in something for which there is no proof

Hmm. Isn't Webster dead? I will tell you one thing, when a person dies, they will have all the proof they need. Better to believe the truth while you are alive than to find out when you die. At least to not be so hard hearted to no look, seeing as it is obvious that God exists.

Oh, and that is a messed up definition. All wrong. May Jesus bless you.

Definitions are made by the people that use the words. Its within your right to claim a different definition :) Faith alone is unjustified, but having faith isn't necessarily unjustified.

If you don't find out the truth until you die, how can you believe it before-hand?...perhaps on faith alone?

Apologies for the misreading of your sentence. In order to believe something before-hand, you have to indeed 'find' the truth through evidence and reason (proof) to make it justified and not 'faith alone'.

Hebrews 11:1 ...Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see.

You are very right my friend. Evidence. But it was written, Faith is the substance of things hoped for and the EVIDENCE of things not seen.

It is much like a child as you have heard me elaborate on :). Not seeing yet believing then searching and then finding. So in fact there is evidence, it just isn't seen, at first. However once you have faith then you can see it clearly (As God reveals it to those who have faith first).

It is like an old story I told. A man stands in the middle of the street, and sees no traffic coming. A man, who has seen the traffic coming warns the man who is down the highway. The man can listen or not listen. If he does not move in time he will be hit. Only problem is, the man in the highway is not blind nor deaf, but he closes his eyes and stops his ears with his fingers to ignore the man warning him.

''Now, this man says, I do not see it I do not hear it, therefore it does not exist and I will not get hit.'' For his own willful ignorance he disregards the warning. He could at least get out of the road so that in case the man is not puling his string, he would not be hit (This is what we say of repentance from sin). However, that would be too much for him, he would rather go about his business. Now, he could have believed the man and been saved, or at least even considered the man. And then, what is proof other than this? CRASHHHH!!

Get the drift?

You've put faith before evidence. Faith in something is not evidence of its truth.
The analogies break down, the blind man is not in isolation with only the words of another to guide his decision, the life he has lived should give him the knowledge and experience (of car's/carriages; what roads are for; cross referencing that other people do indeed have 'sight' etc) to determine the reasonability of a claim and thus validity of the threat; thereby putting evidence and reason before faith.
Criticisms of Pascals Wager and the 'Absolute Truth Method' remain unrefuted.

Certainly, this man should see how obvious his mistake is, since such a thing leads to death. But it is because he is proud that he remains in obvious danger. The Lord said that the wages of sin is death. Yet, when we say that the Law of the Lord is good, which is obvious, many people make excuses to continue in sin, which leads to death.

Anger to murder. Coveting to theft and adultery. Lust to adultery. Hatred to lying. Which things are obviously evil and end in death and mess. This should be the evidence, first that the Lord is good, who considered these things.

Now, once a person has faith he has the evidence, and then the Lord takes us from FAITH TO FAITH. It was written that we must first believe that He IS, and that he is the rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.

The man could believe the warning but if he doesn't move he shows either his pride or the truth of his unbelief.

I could talk all day, but if a person would rather ignore in pride, he is called and doubtful man, and unbelieving man. And as obvious as the man in street will get hit if he stays there, which should be obvious, so will a doubtful man and unbelieving man end up in hell.

May Jesus bless you.

when the excuses are good, what one calls obvious is apparently not so obvious. Cest la vie.
May Jesus bless you.
Thankyou for the nice intention.
May all that is good bless reason and let you see it :)

In my experience, this is faith:

There are certain things in my life that have happened: That time I should have died and didn't; the time I met the guy who's friendship would bring me back to Christ; that time when I almost ended up homeless but found a place to live at the last instant; that year when I had $500 in savings and no job, yet didn't starve.

Some people would call those coincidences. Others might say I have been lucky. Still others would say I was in the right places at the right time and met the right people.

But when I went searching for God, I knew He was there and I knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that He cared what happened to me. In the end, Jesus was the answer. And when I finally believed in Him and His love fully, completely, without reservation or doubt, I knew I'd found the answer.

:). You remind me of me my friend. When we were low only the Lord saw us to bring us out. I am so thankful for this. May Jesus bless you.
