I think if we don't know how to love and care for and nurture our own heart we won't be very good at receiving love or giving it.
I've heard this said before, many times, that one cannot love without first loving their self. I wonder how much truth there is to the idea--is it biblical?

I wonder if P lost his teeth and is looking for them somewhere. Maybe he dropped them in the lake. Lol
I'm assuming he 'unsubscribed'...

...but you said it's better to ask for clarification.

Of course it's biblical. Your body is a temple of the living God. How can you be good for people if you are unhealthy?

Don't know. You can't love others without first receiving His Love, but first love yourself? Maybe it starts with loving someone else. It's always easier to forgive others than yourself.

Rather than try to answer your question, how about we focus on: How can one be healthy? How does one love oneself?

"My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me." (Gal 2:20 NLT)

"And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ This is the first commandment. And the second, like it, is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.” (Mark 12:30-31)

Receiving forgiveness from Jesus is the way to forgive yourself. If you haven't received it from the source you will never extend it to yourself or anyone else. Not real forgiveness anyway.

Just to clarify: You told me to leave the website, right?

YOU are the one who made the decision to leave TWICE. I didn't make you leave, nor did I tell you to leave. That was all YOUR decision. Not mine.

Oh yes that's true, but it's at the same time that you also love others I have the idea.

Jesus accepts you as you are. Our journey is the process of learning that life in Christ is what you can do vs what you can't do. What you can do is change your mind about yourself to match what He thinks of you. Part of that is learning to grieve and process pain. We're aren't meant to be surface dwellers going from one emotional crisis to the next and resolving none of it....we are meant to live in the truth that lies behind the veil of life on this planet.

Okay! Thanks for your clarification.

Then jump off the coaster. :/
I just can't figure out if certain threads are 'rollercoasters' or if the entire website is a rollercoaster.
Third time's a charm.

So when someone criticizes you...you have to tell yourself the truth. That hurts.....now what is true about you? You're obviously valuable and loved. You have good insight into things. It's easy to hang onto harsh words but you don't have to....they are just opportunity to tell yourself truth and care for yourself. You need to be good at that.

While you're chewing on it, may I suggest you read the verse in your siggy, particularly the green highlighted part? :)
