Fasting.

Fasting isn't a diet plan. It is not a time to get together with people and prove who is more righteous by what they can abstain from eating. Fasting is a time to rob our flesh of glory to the glory of God. It may be a time of prayer and fellowship with Jesus. It may be a time to lay your burdens down at the feet of Jesus. It may be a time to minister to the poor and to the needy, to the widow. Or it may be a time for the fasting for souls!!!

There is nothing more weighty than fasting for souls. When my flesh is weak I can hear more clearly what the Lord is saying. And am more ready to distribute. It is true that no flesh can glory in the presence of God. Because in his presence the flesh is consumed away. If you want an answer from the Lord, fast and pray. But don't do it to receive glory from men, but do it to draw closer to God, which is our main goal.

16 “Moreover, when you fast, do not be like the hypocrites, with a sad countenance. For they disfigure their faces that they may appear to men to be fasting. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward. 17 But you, when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face, 18 so that you do not appear to men to be fasting, but to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.[d
