I always loved going to a board game or a card game......and sometimes go to a good book. Technology is everywhere, whatever did we do before it came about? All I do know is life was less complicated

What's a hope chest?
It's where girls would put household items they collected through their adolescent into adulthood so when they get married they have items to start their life with. Like I have dishes, slow cooker, corning ware, and a lot of other items. Believe me I have a lot. Lol
My parents even had a bed frame built for me last year as part of my hope chest and it's beautiful.

Wow... that is so beautiful and traditional!!

Around here we just have what we call a "kitchen shower", and we give those kinds of gifts (pots, pans, cutlery, bed sheets, towels, and such).

But it's a beautiful idea!! :)

Tsk. Addict :p. (jk) But really... Get a onesie! *BruceWayne gets onesie, puts it on, and..." Wow. This feels so wonderful. I've been waiting for this all my life. Youtube, ESPN, you are NOTHING compared to this perfect, magical thing women call onesies. What were they thinking? Onesies? More like The-answer-to-my-lifeies."* :p
I have two pairs of onesies but they are fleece and I'm post menopausal, so put them on and instant sweat!

I'd love to get some more not-fleece, but I'm roughly the same size as a men, and, apparently men rather watch ESPN than wear onesies. lol

Thank you, my sister gave me some of the things when she got married so its brand new and the rest came from my Grandma. A month ago my mom bought something for me to put above a crib and it was a little strange but she told me to put it in my chest to save when I have children.

I was your age before technology hit. (Well desktop computers anyway. lol) When the lights went out we did what you dream of doing -- played cards or Monopoly.

Life was neither more nor less complicated. The only noticeable difference I see is nowadays I have to watch where I'm walking because everyone has their noses in some gizmo and aren't paying attention to where they're going. (I used to be the one who wasn't paying attention. lol)

Wait, she said from the closet so that's why I chose clothes. If electronics count, definitely my laptop. :)

bells and alarms are going off right now,

atwhatcost has stated that she is the same size as 'men' - are we talking 'shoe-size'??
belt?? neck?? football helmet??

for some reason I had just assumed that she was the same size as some 'teddybear'??
but on the other hand,,do they even make onesies for teddybears???

something to really think about........

Actually, she's modernized the tradition. My hope chest was full of the stuff that was important to me -- my toys. lol

Our grandmother helped my cousin make a more useful version. She taught my cousin how to sew a quilt, and that went into the chest. And then she gave her some of her company's-coming dishes that were cushioned by the quilt. Then she taught her how to knit a comforter, and that went in. That cushioned the silver hair set (comb, mirror, nail buffer, all made from silver.) And Binky went in eventually. (Binky was my cousin's childhood blanket. She slept with Binky -- under her pillow instead of holding it when she got older -- until the day she came home from college to wash Binky, and Binky fell apart in the washer, so Binky became part of her hope chest.

Slow cookers and modern kitchen appliances is definitely not traditional, but it's brilliant! A much needed up grade to the old traditions. After all, who really brushes their hair holding a mirror anymore? lol

In men's clothes, I'm a:
XL for shirts.
XXL in bibfronts.
Size 10 shoe.
I can't tell you what size football helmet, but hubby is 6' 2", and his head fits his body. (Not bigger than average, nor smaller.) My CPAP mask is the same size as his -- medium. (My nose is bigger than his. Yes, we spend ample time figuring out the really minor stuff of life. lol)

(I can get women's clothes for what goes under and women's nightgowns, so I have no idea how men's sizes work for those kinds of things, but I like to think my bra size would be smaller, if they dared to wear a bra. lol)

And the average size teddy bear is 12". Mine is 18".

And, the teddy bear has footsie pajamas I made for him, but it's a two piece, not a onesie. (I'd love to make them all onsies, alas, I'm not good with buttonholes or zippers.) But, hey? Are you impressed? He's wearing a pair of pants I made for him. (Shirt is store-bought.) He has a tail stub, so pants are are to form fit on him. (Over a dozen stuffed animals down here with us in our living room, and each one has winter, summer, and Philadelphia Eagle season clothes. Their wardrobe occupies the bottom drawer in my chest of drawers and is spilling over into other piles in the bedroom. My theory is, if I'm hot or cold, so are they, so they must be clothed.)

(Or, short answer. I'm as nuts as you fear. lol)

Does my cat count XD

Every night, if she isn't in my room, I ask my husband to bring her to me.
He's gotten used to this by now; when I get into bed, if he hears me call his name, he usually doesn't ask what I want. He just brings me the cat :p

Haha that's awesome! I must get one.
Honestly this is the first time for me to hear the word "onesie" :p
Is it that weird though? :p
In Indonesia, when we use such kind of clothing we will be sweaty and (probably) faint :p lol
