Point #1, yes I do mean the transgender issue. For one thing, most of the stuff about protecting young women has already been debunked by experts. Most of the people saying this stuff know they're lying, they just think we're too stupid to know they're lying. It's stupid culture war nonsense meant to keep us infighting rather than focusing on the important stuff. The stories we've all heard has been called out, rightfully, for being right-wing fearmongering. I honestly can't believe there are people who still believe it. I'm not trying to be a jerk about it, but the whole argument is absolute nonsense. These people are human beings and deserve the same rights and freedoms we want for ourselves. Do unto others, and all that. Nothing is gained from doing things that only serve to make other peoples' lives worse.
Point #2, about entertainment, I refer to verses like Titus 1:15, John 1:3, and Psalm 24:1-2. People really do worry too much. Books like "the ten-cent plague" really shaped my thinking. My whole life, I've heard about how evil everything is from this community, and all it's done is make me think that Christianity has got to be one of the most miserable groups ever. So afraid that everything is going to lead to hell, everything is so evil and wrong and in some cases, even leads to demonic possession. The fact is, that nothing exists without God's allowing it, and it seems absolutely ridiculous that we get so up in arms about everything and to never enjoy what God has put here. Now, if you, personally, think that something isn't good for you, then you are well within your rights to act accordingly (seek out your own salvation, and all that), but my primary concern is this idea that we need to be the police of the world, rather than love the people in it. Besides, it's not our world anyway.
Point #3, yes, all mainstream media is corporate-owned, so yes, it absolutely is brainwashing. Totally agree. It's all owned by corporations, which are all owned by billionaires with a vested interest in maintaining the status quo, keeping us all bickering with one another so that we never notice how we're being railroaded into the ground.
Point #4, I don't care one way or the other about A.I, to be honest. There are hundreds of sci-fi movies and books warning against letting technology grow out of control, but we never listen, do we? This tends to be a theme in human history: that we never learn. And since we're on the cusp of just about everything other imaginable apocalypse, let's go ahead and toss this one in, too, and see what happens. Again, we really are just terrified of everything, aren't we? What happened to trusting God? What happened to "be not afraid?" It's mentioned something like 365 times in the Bible, and yet, all we do is get up in arms about everything. This is exactly what I'm talking about.
I've heard every possible argument about my point of view over the years. I've been called everything in the book by this community. So, you're not gonna shock me by saying I'm lost, deceived, heretical, or whatever. The fact is this is on my heart, and I really think we've caused more harm in this world than any good we might have done, and I really do feel that it's time we change our approach. Maybe pick our battles. Maybe focus more on actual outreach than rallying being political and social movements that do nothing but turn others away from God in the first place. At some point, this community is going to have to reckon with all the harm we've caused, nitpicking over everything while ignoring the more important matters.
Sorry if I sound so grumpy, but I've been getting attacked for my views for a long time, and I'm quite frankly exhausted.
