the problem with things like this is it only deals with surface issues. certain denominations are way to concerned about things like this that have very little to do with our relationship with God. it is the inner sins that will destroy us, the ones no one can see. like lust, greed, lying, not really believing the Bible and things that Christ said. these are the things that will push us away from God. not buying a lotto ticket, getting a tattoo, having a beer, etc. concentrate on the REAL things that are bad. as Christ told the Pharisees, clean the inside of the cup.

As I'm still relatively new to Christianity, I have many questions such as:-

Is buying Tattslotto every week a form of Gambling that is to be frowned upon,

or is there 'gamling' & 'gambling' ?...-'Confused'
Rose, there is no such thing as "gambling and gambling". When you play the lottery, you are gambling. When you buy a scratch-off ticket, you are gambling. I dont think gambling in itself is a sin--UNLESS you allow it to become an overwhelming addiction!! Then the devil will use it against you to draw you into his evil web of sin. If you gamble with money you dont really have, then your putting yourself (and your family) at risk of losing everything: house/apt, vehicle, good credit, etc. I dont think buying the occasional lottery ticket is a sin. I do it myself from time to time. :) I always get the $1 dollar scratch-off tickets, so if I lose, I'm only out a dollar. :) The key to gambling is to not do it all the time, dont allow it to consume your time extensively, and do it in moderation. Oh, and if you ever win the lottery, remember me when you give away your money!! :p Lol!!!
