Well, the narrative describing Joseph's dream warning him to flee with the baby Jesus is documented in the New Testament. But I'll give you that it occurred before Christ's sacrifice and the freeing of man to be indwelt by the Spirit (altho... never mind). So maybe that wasn't the best example. It's what I came up with in the time alloted lol.
But to get back to the question, no, dreams are not a gift of the Holy Spirit.
Dreams and visions are a manifestation of the Holy Spirit. Gifts are specific movements of the Holy Spirit through someone who is indwelt, while manifestations are things (like demeanor and character) that grow out of being indwelt. Dreams and visions may be also messages from angels, as was the actual case with the story of Joseph.
Have you not had dreams, have you not had visions? I pray that you have, or will, and that you be open to them. God is the same then now and forever - and we can dream just as those past and those to come. Discernment is the key. God establishes His word to us by 2 or 3 witnesses, so something in a dream from God should be backed up by at least 1 other 'witness'. 'Could be a word of wisdom (a gift!) from someone, it should be in your Bible (possibly falling open to a passage that addresses it?), you might perhaps receive a piece of knowledge (another gift!) that pushes you along. It's by these things that we confirm God's word and revelation - including dreams - to us. By 2 or more witnesses, with confirmation in scripture.
Bad food doesn't usually come with all that
Discernment, not dismissal. Why, that's another gift!
