Hi everyone, how are you doing? This thread is basically to give thanks to God because all the things he has done in our lives and on our daily basis!
I'm so happy and my heart is pouring out joy (I wanna state that happiness is a momentarily feeling but joy is a constant feeling a fruit of the spirit.

-I'm thankful 'cause God has been faithful through all these years. He was with me, and He carried me when I was feeling alone.
-I have His holy word in spanish, my native tongue that I can read everyday and take new things out of it!
- Thanks God for making me creative, I love creating music, singing, playing the piano, painting, I couldn't live without those things you've given me cause they make me happy and I want to worship You with them!
- Thanks God for giving me a lot of friends, brothers and sisters in Christ, in my country and all around the world (including CC friends!) :) I cherish them, they are a blessing to me :)
-Thanks God for your creation, I can enjoy the grass, the smell of the flowers and enjoy the view of my city! Thanks for making it all so beautiful and help us take good care of everything.

Hello Godsavemeifyoureallyexist,
Yes, God didn't promise these things wouldn't happen to us, diseases entered to the world because we first sinned. We disobeyed God first when he said not to and we ate the fruit of the forbidden tree. You can read that in Genesis. There is also hunger, injustice, people being raped, orphan kids, kids without a home, etc. But remember that happens because in the world there's evil ( sexual immorality, lies, vanity, murderers, etc.)
My grandparent also died of cancer when I was 18, and my grandmother, who was one of the persons who loved me the most in this earth, died of cancer, and I felt I was alone in this world, but I knew God was holding me in that moment, as I know He is holding your parents and is holding and embracing you, if you believe and trust Him, He loves you and He's the one that cares for the the most in the universe. He will not let you go.

Great post Erika! I have found that I have really been enjoying what the Lord has been putting on your heart. Keep sharing!! :) Having a grateful heart is something I pray for. I don't ever want to forget about even the little things that our GREAT Lord does for us.

I'm thankful for...
* His unconditional love
* The peace He grants us.
* I'm thankful that He has given us family (blood relations as well as sisters and brothers in the Lord), what a blessing they are.
* I'm thankful for His plan :) (Even when it may seem hard not knowing it, I trust that it's a beautiful one :) )

Here are some good quotes I have to help get into the spirit of thankfulness towards God.

So I guess I am thankful that God raises up godly-minded Christian authors to exhort all us other Christians into having the right attitudes toward God that He is most certainly worthy of.

"God loves to bestow his mercies where there is the best echo of thankfulness."
- Thomas Watson, The Godly Man's Picture, pg 137

"There is no state of mind so holy, so excellent, and so truly perfect, as that of thankfulness to God; and consequently nothing is of more importance in religion than that which exercises and improves this habit of mind."
- William Law, A Serious Call To A Devout And Holy Life, Chapter 15, pg 159-160

"True gratitude, or thankfulness to God for His kindness to us, arises from a foundation, laid before, of love to God for what He is in Himself... The gracious stirrings of grateful affection to God, for kindness received, always are from a stock of love already in the heart, established in the first place on other grounds, for example God's own excellency; and hence the affections are disposed to flow out, on occasions of God's kindness."
- Jonathan Edwards, The Works of Jonathan Edwards, Volume 1, pg 748

"We cannot rightly acknowledge the gifts of God unless we acknowledge the Mediator for whose sake alone they are given to us. There can be no genuine thanksgiving for the blessings of nation, family, history and nature without that heart-felt penitence which gives the glory to Christ alone above all else."
- Dietrich Bonhoeffer, The Cost of Discipleship, Chapter 5, pg 98

I'm thankful for longsuffering. Many people would like to sidestep tribulation, but I find it a blessing that shapes me and helps me grow. :)
