I would so like to hear from someone who read Ken Follett's Pillars of the Earth. It is the story of building a cathedral in the middle ages, I wouldn't have missed it. It tells so much about the development of our church during that time, but the times were brutal. It is certainly fiction, but I am impressed with the historical research Ken did.
I just finished two books that has me reeling, wondering about the world we live in. I would so like to hear from anyone else who has read them. One is M Scott Peck's People of the Lie that they say has had an effect on the field of psychiatry, and the other is by the controversial ex priest, Malachi Martin "Hostage to the Devil" about exorcism. Either these are things everyone needs to know about or they are about sensationalism that Christians should not think about.
