I thought I would share these points about our eternal security which is vital for every believer to understand. Our security in Christ is unbreakable because it depends on God's integrity, His power and His grace not ours.

GUARANTEES of ETERNAL SECURITY

1. The completeness of the work of Christ.

Luk 19:10 "For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost."

Joh 17:4 "I glorified You on the earth, having accomplished the work which You have given Me to do.”

Joh 19:30 Therefore when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, "It is finished!" And He bowed His head and gave up His spirit.

Eph 4:30 Do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.

2. The total accomplishment of Christ’s forgiveness of sin.

Mat 26:28 “for this is My blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for forgiveness of sins.”

1Pe 2:24 and He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross, so that we might die to sin and live to righteousness; for by His wounds you were healed.

Heb 9:28 so Christ also, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time for salvation without reference to sin, to those who eagerly await Him.

1Pe 3:18a For Christ also died for sins once for all, the just for the unjust,

Psa 103:12 As far as the east is from the west, So far has He removed our transgressions from us.

3. The certainty of God’s promises.

Joh 6:37 "All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will certainly not cast out.

Joh 6:38-39 "For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me. This is the will of Him who sent Me, that of all that He has given Me I lose nothing, but raise it up on the last day.”

Joh 6:40 "For this is the will of My Father, that everyone who beholds the Son and believes in Him will have eternal life, and I Myself will raise him up on the last day."

Joh 10:27-28 "My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me; and I give eternal life to them, and they will never perish; and no one will snatch them out of My hand.”

4. The indwelling of the Holy Spirit, the indwelling of Christ, and the indwelling of God the Father.

Joh 14:16-17 "I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever; that is the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not see Him or know Him, but you know Him because He abides with you and will be in you.”

Joh 14:23 Jesus answered and said to him, "If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our abode with him.

Col 1:27 to whom God willed to make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.

5. The guarantee of our justification.

Act 13:38-39 "Therefore let it be known to you, brethren, that through Him forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you, and through Him everyone who believes is freed from all things, from which you could not be freed through the Law of Moses.

2Co 5:21 He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

6. The guarantee of Christ’s constant advocacy.

1Jn 2:1 My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous;

7. The guarantee of our permanent connection with Christ’s body.

1Co 12:13 For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free, and we were all made to drink of one Spirit.

Eph 5:29-32 for no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as Christ also does the church, because we are members of His body.
For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and shall be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh. This mystery is great; but I am speaking with reference to Christ and the church.
