There are people I find to be relentlessly judgmental. Why is this? I wonder if it is some attempt to justify their own shortcomings. I have opinions and I have views but mine seem to be more tolerant towards many things (not everything) but I try to keep to facts. The other thing is when people post things with no back-up at all. Ok I am ranting now and apologies but what does everyone thing of this, do you find people (within cc) to be judgmental of others or intolerant?

Hi leelee & thank you for sharing your post, which I totally agree with. Remember; "Let him who is without sin .......!
Also, I may not always agree with something a person says, but I would defend to the death their right to say it.

Dear leelee,

I am probably one of those people that you would find "judgmental". I would like to offer a partial defense for those of us who come across that way.

As you can see, I am almost 3 times as old as you. I have seen a lot in my lifetime that you will never see or experience, but what I have seen has shaped the world which you live in. And a lot of it hasn't been good; from a Christian perspective. I have seen prayer removed from our schools; to the extent that you can't even "bless" a high school football game any more. I have seen the Ten Commandments forcibly ripped from public display. I have seen the "gay pride" movement totally pollute the thinking of a whole generation, and more.

The problem is, what you regard as "facts" really are not; they are inventions of a secular culture that wants to suppress Christianity to the extent that it totally disappears from the face of the earth. They have reinvented history, put forth preposterous notions in the name of "science", and generally muddied the waters until it is barely possible to discern what the "truth" is any more.

But, throughout everything, what stands out is the inerrant truth of Scripture. God is the same today as he was when He lead the Israelites out of Egypt. He had certain standards then, and those standards have never changed. I am fond of telling people that "The times may change, but God never does." So, when I speak out against gay rights (not gay people), or when I question the validity of the theory of evolution, I am not being judgmental. I am speaking the truth as I see it.

And no one will know who is right until we all stand before the judgement seat of God. :)

God bless you.

Yes, leelee, I see people being intolarent, to the point to saying that someone else's opinion is lawlessness, insinuating that the person holding the belief is in lawlessness. It's one thing to say a certain belief seems to promote lawlessness, but to boldly say that it is, is just going to invite argueing.

Christianity will never disappear from the face of the earth. Look at countries where it is illegal to read a Bible...Christianity still flourishes in these countries, and grows. Look at the first church, how fast it grew dispite people trying to whipe it out.

What Christians need to do is to stop gripeing about the culture change and look for ways that they can impact the community. Something as simply as working in a soup kitchen tells the people that you are serious about your faith. Your actions speaks louder than your words. To show the love of Christ hasn't been taken away from you, even if prayer in schools has.

So, when I speak out against gay rights (not gay people), or when I question the validity of the theory of evolution, I am not being judgmental. I am speaking the truth as I see it.
Right, speak out against ideas, not people. *thumbs up* I think leelee is talking about attacking the person by saying they are lost, or going to hell, as I have seen said on this site.

And no one will know who is right until we all stand before the judgement seat of God. :)
It takes real humility for one to realize that. Many think they know for certain exactly what the Bible says on a subject and if you disagree with their position, they inform you that you are disagreeing with God and not them. That's sad, that people get that puffed up and that confident in matters that are debateable.

The ones I find worst are the teenagers actually.
And most of the facts I am speaking about are medical. I am a nurse. I have read into many many topics to do with health and wellbeing.
And that's cool to speak the truth as you see it but it needs to be backed up with something. Not a YouTube video preferably.

Jamie you are right, its the ones condemning others that I have the biggest issue with. I am going on a live and let live thing with my life.
Edit) People get nasty, there is someone on hear telling people they lack intelligence when they reply. Some of them it is because of the way they phrase things, a lot of them are not from an English speaking country and as a dyslexic myself I resent his attacking because sometimes you can't help it. I know I make mistakes when I am writing things but i try my best and so do they.

The other irritating thing is the attempt's made by people to twist everything. I hate that.

I have another addition (not meaning to turn this into a personal ranting corner but wondering if everybody thinks it too). why do people post the same thread over and over?

Because they like to fight with others and/or to voice their opinions over and over.

but what is the point? If they were wrong the first time that doesn't change.

Well, no one thinks they're wrong, or they wouldn't hold the opinion that they do.

It happens a lot leelee, unfortunately. But there are plenty of great non-judgmental people on here as well so I just advise you not waste time fretting over the ones that can do nothing but judge.

I just don't like it. It's so rude. I don't actually understand where this feeling of superiority comes from. God made us all. Even the non-christians were made by him.
And I hate hate hste the false information....."don't go to the dr, fruit seeds will cure your cancer". It is a total lie!
