CNikki,

I was raised Baptist. I went to Christian school growing up and took many courses in the Bible and apologetics, etc. When I went to college, I majored in biology and found out that a lot of the stuff I had learned about science was demonstrably incorrect. At that point, I still believed in god but became skeptical of the Christian community's take on science. I began to pursue a more rigorous understanding of the philosophical underpinnings of nature vs. the supernatural, belief vs. knowledge, faith vs. certainty, etc. That ultimately led me to the conclusion that, in terms of reproducibility, supernatural explanations of the universe seemed to have built in mechanisms for dealing with situations where a particular event did not achieve a desired outcome. By comparison, science has nailed things down to the point where, if we launch a satellite or use GPS triangulation or whatever, science can give a consistent, reproducible, quantifiable, measurable answer that is correct 99% of the time. Of course, as time goes on and science becomes further refined, the answers on a particular question become more accurate and more accurate. Faith never seemed to have the same reproducibility. When things went wrong, it was part of God's plan. When things went right, to God be the glory. The randomness and lack of producibility seemed, to me, to indicate that the underlying philosophy did not accurately describe the universe. After that, I "came out of it" as you say.
First law of thermal dynamics. energy can't be created or destroyed
second Law heat always travels from a warmer spot to a cooler one.
Energy=God as I know God and am not religious, in any religion.
So what do we do with energy since it can't be created nor destroyed?

Bryan,

I am amazed by your insight. Having been an atheist in the past, how come I never saw that, I would have had to agree with you then whole-heartedly.

Unfortunately, being a believer now, I have a slightly better and clearer perspective on things.

Lets Just say there is only so much manure a man can stand in and still have a smile on his face.

Love you bro.

Matt
Hey thanks bro! it's weird how people say things but really in the end I'm not even if they are even sure, just as you said you never saw it like that.

I dont know if u r a male or female...but its good to meet someone who is open minded like u.
First off i'm an engineer and there is no part in scripture which is against u being a scientist infact i know that u can even use ur field of study to glorify God.
Our ways and God's ways r not d same.
Every human being who has walked this earth has gone to d doctor but yet millions die every year of some illness but yet u still believe in science morethan God.Science proved many years ago that pluto was a planet but recently this same science has proved it was a mathematical error and it doesn't exist but still u believe in it morethan Christ.
I started by asking whether u r a male/female...my point is when u eventually get married or enter into a relationship, would u quit just because things r not going ur way?i know u would because u've broken d relationship u had with Him(God) because things r not going ur way.
But how long will u live in uncertainty?God is definite and He created u 4 a purpose and He wants u to humble urself in repentance and come to Him 4 He cares 4 u(He says so in His word i.e d bible).
Lastly u might b right when u said something about d christian community which u used to be part of....yes ,not all who call themselves Christian r truly r...i know, but know this ignorance of the law is no excuse. When u stand infront of Christ He wont tolerate excuses but would tell u that I loved u enough to come down as flesh so that I'll restore u to Myself but u chose to make Me a liar.
I want u to consider this,please....love u....lol.

Grey,

I'm a soft (negative) atheist. If god suddenly began appearing to me in visions every day, I would first do my best to rule out schizophrenia, hallucinations, someone drugging me, etc. and then I would begin to test what I saw/heard in the visions with the natural world. If god told me who was going to win the world series and it happened. I would find that to be very compelling evidence. Even then, however, parsing out whether then entity in question were physical or metaphysical would be a very difficult task, in my opinion.

But God HAS told you so many things that have come to pass. From Genesis where God told Abraham to circumcise on the 8th day, when vitamin K levels spike in infants (promoting blood clotting) to the ENTIRE odyssey of the Jewish people and the nation of Israel, to prophesying to ancients using metal coins and barter that the technology would someday exist for there to be a total cashless society, and hundreds of other prophecies ALL of which has come true. The truth I fear for you is this:[h=3]Luke 16:29-31[/h][SUP]29 [/SUP]“Abraham replied, ‘They have Moses and the Prophets; let them listen to them.’
[SUP]30 [/SUP]“‘No, father Abraham,’ he said, ‘but if someone from the dead goes to them, they will repent.’
[SUP]31 [/SUP]“He said to him, ‘If they do not listen to Moses and the Prophets, they will not be convinced even if someone rises from the dead.’”

I pray in Jesus name that you are here by no accident and that the Lord will convict your heart by the Holy Spirit and you will see the Truth of the Gospel.

Ok here is a 2 part question?

1. Why come on a Christian Site, if your heart, is set not to listen to reason?
2. What is your reason of joining a site like this, if you are an atheist?

Is this something you have been taught in life?

Have you ever believed in God?

Have you witnessed the religious hypocrites?

Have you observed the wonders of creation?

Is it injustices, suffering and hatred those who claim to worship God?

Is it religious wars, my God is better than your God?

Hello, David.*Interesting question, though I am not the one who you asked, I am still curious, At what age did you come to believe you had all the answers in life, so you felt confident enough to make a ruling that God does* exist? (Since you are not*Agnostic). And a follow up to that. Do you think it's egotistical and arrogant to assume that you, a lone individual in the universe has that ultimate knowledge, instead of being moved by mystery? With love,EronP.S.*I am an agnostic theist

Also when did science become about making solid conclusions in the absence of proof?

It seems like atheists are pretty welcome here. I've been here for years and haven't had troubles.
