yiu dont eat the poor babies. i know they steal food but still. they wouldnt eat us lol
Only because we're not rooted into the ground. (They also eat the roots to our squashes -- cukes, zucchini, yellow squash, but they did start our pumpkin one year -- the globe basil, and our one-foot tall fig tree.) Rats with furry tails.

I think we won this year. No tomatoes, so squirrels are confused, but left us alone. (Unless all those peanuts landing in many containers means something.)

Living here in St. Pete, we have always had, literally, dozens of squirrels running all over our property every day for years and years. Almost all of us feed them, and we have the friendliest bunch of semi-pet squirrels you've ever seen.

I've had one that used to get on our screen door, and shift his weight back and forth to make it bang, till we came outside. I could put my hand out on a tree branch he was on, and he would walk out on my arm, right up to my shoulder, and sit there while I fed him.

I'm pretty sure I have told you guys about another one that would walk under my standing dog, and trade kisses with him. And most of them love for you to scratch their heads and ears. We all love squirrels in our neighborhood.
Yeah, but... is Florida known for its tomatoes? lol

You would not want my dad as a neighbor. He shot the squirrels because they dug into his lawn. He was the-guy-with-the-lawn in the neighborhood. He lived in the woods, so not like squirrels weren't supposed to be around. When he gave up shooting them, it still took them a generation before any dared come on his land.

My father trapped them (7 stripe ground squirrels, I think they were, not sure.) and drowned them in a 55 gallon drum of water. If he hadn't have been my father, and an old man at the time, I would have lit his arz up.

You can blame the spelling on the keyboard, but how do you pronounce the word?
