I think I'm with the OP on this. I don't want to look and see all the depravity, evil, and darkness in this world, but would like to be able to see how Jesus can still look at us with mercy and love and extend salvation to us if we accept him and have faith in him, even though none of us deserve it.

I think that was the point of this thread, anyhow.

I can look at people with my natural or fleshly eyes and just consider them as weeds and tares and say they'll never be worth anything, but Jesus looks at them with love and mercy. And yes, I know if we walk in the Spirit then we are more like him and can see things more like him...but I would actually like to see things exactly like him and have perfect understanding. However, that probably won't ever happen here on this earth, but I can and should still strive to be more like him every day by trying to look at things through the Spiritual lens and not the fleshly one. Just my thoughts on it, anyhow.
Yes, you explained it pretty well. Even back in Jesus time, people were also looked down on, those who seemed to be more sinful than others and tax collectors and those who were Samaritans but likely still had much in common with their neighbors. Jesus did not treat people as inferior.

or, consider the average rate of death in the human population

if you wear the glasses long enough, combined with the fact that "wide is the gate of destruction"

you will have a huge sense of urgency, your passion for evangelism would know no bounds.

you'd be so sincere in the urgency of your prayer, it will be as effective as Elijah's

for these glasses, overpowered much?
I don't think so, we need as much ammo as we can get for spiritual warfare

God didn't call us to be cops, politicians, and another. He called us to be his Son's and his daughters, For our mind to be renewed, to have the mind of Christ. I read this in the New Testament, that Jesus said, That you would have eyes that would not see the sin of another, but that you would see the truth. No need for glasses, just a pure heart. Some just look to find fault, and then magnify it. WEre to magnify the Lord. :)

What if I had glasses to see as Jesus does?

I'd take them off immediately.

Hey, I've got to get through my day without barfing.

The topic isn't about "seeing Jesus", but "seeing AS Jesus."

The topic isn't about seeing Jesus, but seeing the world as Jesus sees.

That was the context of my statement.

Imagine if you had a pair of glasses in which you could view the world, people and the things that happen in your day the way Jesus would see. What would change? How would you be different?
That would require one heck of an Optometrist first and foremost.
