Are you sure it's wise to accept guidance from any random person that volunteers? How can you be sure they don't believe in false teachings? Or someone that simply chooses to mess with you? Or part of a cult?
Doesn't it make more sense to observe people, get a sense of their reputation, theology, way they approach people, etc...?
Anyone can reply to this and you'll know nothing about them yet put your trust in them and your spiritual growth in their hands.

Yes you do have a point but at the same isn't she one the reasons we are on this forum? The most important thing as a believer is to help guide teach and to build up others in their faith and relationship with God.

From as little as $9.95 / month I can help her out lol
Kidding of course, you're right. Discipleship should come from relationship, trust and seeing that a person is mature in God.

With the indwelling Christ we can always check with Him what is in His will.

Romans 12:1-2
King James Version(KJV)

1.)I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

2.)And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Better idea. And this is something I did when I was young.

Go all Titus 2 on who you choose to mentor you. Look for the older Titus 2 woman IRL, and then when you find her, ask her. (I found mine in the obvious place -- church. Which reminds me. Tomorrow is her birthday.)
