In between all the tongue in cheek humor we engage in, here in the Miscellaneous Forum, do we remember to love each other?

It's a lot easier to believe we all love each other when we engage in a little tongue in cheek humor, than when we read some of the rancorous "discussions" in the Bible Discussion forum. ;)

I sometimes wonder if people always know we're joking when we do tongue in cheek humor, but I find I am a tongue in cheek addict.

Food fights are rude. (There I go again.)
Food fights are rude, and so is PopClick. Don't make me waste this pie. Join the food fight or I will plaster you with it right in this thread. This is your final warning. :p

(By the way, my tongue never strays far from my cheek.)

I'd rather eat the pie.

Okay, you asked for it!

But, in deference to the title of this thread... I meant that in love.

Well, you can't blame me for being upset. You are wasting pies, aren't you? Unless it's a rhubarb pie. I never enjoyed rhubarb pies all that much, when I was young. Yeah, I'm not as mean as I seem.

This is the first time in my life I've ever heard the term 'tongue in cheek'.
Am I old, or am I young?

Oh, and I think you wasted that pie, PopClick. Pie is a universal good and should be treated as such.

"Tongue in cheek" means saying absurd things as if you really mean them.

You are very young.

Well, it might be tragic, but I'm not sure it's a sin... oh, wait. It says in Romans 18:42: "For let us not waste pies, brothers, as we have been called to preserve them for the nourishment of the Church."

No, the NIV says, "let us not waste GOOD pies", and I would argue that banana cream pies are NOT good! So which translation is correct? And who defines "good"? I MUST START A THREAD ABOUT THIS!!!

But Kyouken just said that pies are a universal good... a point I am not prepared to argue, not without extensive research into the Greek root word "parchegos", or "pie".

Now what was somebody saying about the random gang not taking themselves too seriously? :p
