Many Christians would kill Jesus if he had come today.

They don't know God though they say, ''God,'' He is not their Lord, though they say, ''Lord.''

They don't know him, they deny him, both in word and in deed. They don't worship him in Spirit nor in truth.''

They devour another and speak evil of another. They can't speak peaceably at all. Yes, they would kill Jesus if he had come today, because they don't know him, so they would not know him if he came. They think Jesus is a myth, some book that collects dust on their night stand. They don't have his Spirit, but they have some other spirit.

Jesus came into this world, and he would have lived, if the wicked ''righteous'' people had not killed him. What did I expect? Yes, the Lord took me out from the world. He snatched me out. He taught me by his Holy Spirit, and no man gets that glory except him!!! I was glad to be among people who truly loved the Lord. OR did they???

And then one day the Lord showed me his cross. WHAT A WEIGHT!!! And I said, Lord!! SAVE ME! DELIVER ME FROM EVIL!!

I can see it now, as God lead his Son to the slaughter. Vicious wolves awaited him. Yet, he willingly and faithfully GAVE himself over to them. GAVE!!! The Lord showed me that I must also suffer these things for his names sake. What do I choose? Do I choose to fear and be offended and go away and say, Lord, that is too much for me!! Or do I say, LORD!! NOT MY WILL BUT YOUR WILL BE DONE!!!

Sure, I would have been fine if the Lord just took me away the moment he saved me, but then, how many people might not have heard his gospel in the process? Jesus came to get his own people, and he was killed by those who said they were his people. For who? For his people only? NO!!! FOR THE ENTIRE WORLD!!

He said, ''If I be lifted up from the earth, I will draw ALL men unto me.''

This is the weight and the glory. That was the moment of his glory. That was the shedding of the sweet smelling savor.

It is the blood of the lamb that pacifies the wrath of God. It is his blood, working in the life of the believer, drawing the believer to himself. I met Jesus at the cross. Now, I take up my own cross and follow him to Calvary.

May Jesus bless you.

I actually agree with you. I think that's the point of the gospels. It's not "the jews" or "the romans" or "those people" who killed Jesus ... it was the church. It's US.
