:D. A southern friend of mine once completely confused me by saying that she found this really fun pin set...but it was too expensive so she made her own. It had feathers and sequins and all sorts of bling. And I'm going...like, a brooch? a decorative pin for clothing? Girl, that sounds SO ugly :p. Then she says "They wrote really fun!" and the light went on, lol.
Lol, I almost always say "ink pin" instead of just "pin". It makes it less confusing. When I was a senior in high school, we went to Washington D.C. and we went to the National Archives to see a copy of the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence. At the time, they were in a weird protective case that looked green. One of my classmates said "It looks like they are in gel." But the way he said it, it sounded like he said "jail". I was trying to puzzle out what he meant when I realized that we say gel like jail.

I've heard that substitution as well :D (not with that specific word of course).
