...Which is ironic because we're SO different, especially doctrinally!

I'm the music director at our church -- I'm super conservative. He's the pastor and pretty liberal.

I'm 100% convinced the Bible is inerrant and Jesus was/is sinless. He thinks the Bible is mainly allegorical, not necessarily 100% correct and that Jesus sinned. He believes homosexuals should be clergy and should also be allowed to marry in the church. I'm staunchly against that.

Yet, we're friends and we've had a good working relationship. We both showed up in our tiny town about the same time, and we just hit off. Same sense of humor. Same goal of bringing our congregation closer to God (although I think we have differing definitions of that).

I'm going to miss him. And I'm sad.

I have no idea who the denomination is going to send next, and I simply may not be able to work with that person, so I might be out of my position, too.

God's doing something here. :(

From a cat's point of view: Sorry you're sad. Wanna flush the dog down the toilet again? :p

Hopefully that made you laugh. :)

If you deemed worthy of your friendship then I'm sure he's a good guy. but maybe pastoring isn't the best line of work for him
