He learned me to make a nice sauce to serve with pancakes. Orange juice - some lemon juice - some of the outside of an orange (dunno the name in English, tastes bitter) - and Grand Marnier. Cook in a sauce pan, then poor over the pancakes, add Grand Marnier in the sauce pan, put in on fire and spread over the pancakes. Its sooooooo yummy and it's a lot of show as well

YES! to make brown sauce/ gravy whatever you call it:
heat butter until it is golden, add some flour slowly to make a even mix thats kinda pasty but not too thick, this shiould now have a golden colour.
add water (preferably use water from the vegetables or the meat if that is being cooked) until it thins out... add salt and pepper (and whatever else you might like)...
