hi jenizona! Thank you so much for taking the time to help me. Unfortunately I couldn't watch that video because I'm not from the U.S. I'm from Australia. From what I know of the Coptic church here in Australia it isn't like what you are describing. I need to do more research into it and everything to make a more informed decision I think.

Thank you for your help!
Oh, so sorry! I honestly didn't know the internet links worked differently... silly internet. Although I've heard that the internet in Australia is a bear. And I'm just trying to offer advice, based on the information I have... I know there's a lot I don't know about the situation. Really wanting the best for you... and for him! :)

Yea...break-up with a godly and good man because he really believes what he really believes and what God clearly teaches.... this is why our society is in such a mess :(
Remember obedience is nothing more than the HUMAN APPROACH to the mightiest of Revelations. We do indeed enter into the identification of Jesus by the door of obedience and faith, but the oneness is a revelation; an identity cemented in our being. As we look at Jesus as our example then and not the do's and don'ts we rest on the conclusion that Jesus was not a being that became Divine; He was the Godhead incarnated. When we approach people with an unbalanced attempt to have them obey before they have received the purpose of it thru Christ's walk with them first, we miss the point. And our effort becomes dogmatic.Point the finger to Jesus and do it with grace knowing He has your back.

It is not one of the many things we need to copy of Jesus it is the all of Jesus we need to become, not immolate. It is easy to be passionate, easy to be thrilled with the time Jesus spent with you in the bible over The vow of man to wife and wife to man, but it takes a heart in love with Jesus Christ to put YOUR FEET in His footprints, and to square the life to a steady going "Up to Jerusalem with Him." Remember if you find yourself having to defend yourself are you doing it because God has given you the message thru the Word, and thus you need not defend it personally except by way of the Word! Or is it because you have been caught up in it personally, losing then the slow to speak;peace God would never have you leave.

I see Discipline as one of the main things we as Christians fall short of sometimes. By my identification being not that of my rights thru Christ but simply my right to be Christ-like God has given me an experience of His life and grace, therefore I am a law unto myself now in the New Man, the discipline of this Christian is not in order to develop my own life, but for the purposes of my Commander. I am here for one reason only; to be loyal to Jesus Christ. That is my message to myself and the message I have to give others. Jesus will do the pointing of figures to His ways. Yet, He does not point, He lifts up man kind Himself thru a Son who voluntarily bore our sins in order to have God lift man kind up to Himself and for Christ to bring God to us.

The truths of God need not be shoved down our throats, they need be procured thru an experiential tutelage Of the reflexion of our identification in Our Lord Jesus Christ. Grace rules when we know we are not the one involved in the fight for righteousness for others. We need only point the truth to Him, He will point the truth within others out to obedience.

To Lion I would also add, it is good to go to God with prayer as you said, but remember to go as a blank slate to God, you stated an agenda of wanting to... "see him as a good guy so as to...." earlier in the threads. Jesus is the premise for those teaching and those listening, drop off the agenda at the door Jesus may reinforce your original idea or He may reverse the trend, but let Him be the one you are identified with!

Not sure of your point? but I was speaking to situation in context of the given information and in regards to those who should know the ways of the Lord and clear reading of scripture. I made the judgment that what was being promoted was a destructive attitude towards this ladies relationship as she presented it. So again im not sure how your post relates but it looks well written and well-thought out...for that, thank you :)

Lol I think she's adorable... and look at all those trophies behind her, about to be awarded! This girl is going for the WIN!! "Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last; but we do it to get a crown that will last forever. Therefore I do not run like a man running aimlessly, I do not fight like a man beating the air. No, I beat my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize." 1 Corinthians 9:24-27

"I made the judgment.." This is my point. It is God's point. I don't know if you read my post but all it says is let God make your points. Not you. He will use you to make them, but I see a need to ask Him about this....will you? Ask Him about this in you? All I want is for God's power to be seen fully in you by you being fully in Him, thus, then rightfully so.

Right...I being a student and child of God "made the judgment" according to the wisdom and understanding God has given to me...who are you to judge that? will you ask God if your judging something about me that you have no place to judge?

It sounds to me she is looking for biblical advice? I think after she established that she trusted him as the spiritual head ..she should trust him to be the spiritual head. That don't mean she don't have the right or should not influence him, but in the end she should trust him to be who God wants him to be.
Well you see I see Jesus as saying He will give sound advice in view of Scripture and Himself. Not that God has given you Scripture....so, make people understand how sound that is. I see her not needing simply Scripture, but needing sound advice based on it. I cannot possibly be knowledgeable enough to doctor that for her. But God can, my suggestion is to point to the doctor not the one cure you know. That way if the doctor happens to see a better way, you won't be standing in His way. You will never be handed the Doctor title is my point operate your cures found in scripture, in such a manner. This is what I see God sharing to both of us, what do you see?
