Just don't use the word God in front of it..
Exactly! :)

That's when we tell God to damn someone. If we're going to do that, make sure it is God's will to damn him/her. (And we never know if God is going to damn someone, plus we're supposed to love and have mercy, so it's never a good idea to tell God to damn someone anyway.)

? What on earth made you assume my standards were above God's standards? Don't confuse me learning to hold my tongue and to keep it clean as holding standards above God's. This isn't a matter of looking good for me it's a matter of being good inside you cannot clean the outside of a cup and not clean the inside.

They say what comes from the mouth is from the heart this is why I consider all the more what my words are if you call this arrogance then fine
If God used several men to write his word with the word "damn" (or "damnation" or "damnable") in it, then God's standard is to use the word "damn." This was already covered.

But you said you have a "higher standard." Exactly what else was I supposed to think?

And, yes! I am saying people won't use some words to appear to be righteous. They want to look good in front of others. Our righteousness reeks. The only way we have any righteousness at all is through Christ. His righteousness is sweet.

There's a reason so many think of Christians as "Don't dance, don't smoke, and don't chew, nor hang out with those that do." Because that's exactly the surface level stuff we want to pretend we are, so we don't get to the deeper stuff. As long as we look good, we don't have to be good.

Damn is a small example of that. This site is riffed with constant examples of that.

Don't fall for the looking-good-is-better-than-being-good example shown off on here way too much. Think it out.

Is damn really a curse word? No! So using it is fine. There are way bigger issues of how we act than using one word that has become Christian-version of PCism. Everyone will tell you things you are and aren't supposed to believe. They'll even give a long reason for it. BUT always check out if it is true anyway. Tinny was taught the same thing I believed for years. And then I checked it out. Biblically, damn isn't always related to going to hell!

Just because we're taught how to look good, doesn't mean what we're taught IS good!
