I would say that about 95% of the time, I am absolutely sure. And almost every time, I've been right..that person WAS a troll. And here you are spouting off about US calling people trolls, when myself and others have seen YOU do it yourself in the past.. Pot, meet kettle.. And for the most part, it's usually fairly obvious when someone is a troll, especially if it happens to be a many-times-banned member returning time and again.
Great!

So the answer is everyone stay just as you were. Don't grow. Don't try to improve. Don't focus on God.

And again? WHY BOTHER? For what purpose?

(The one question no one has answered.)

When we post, we have a choice: Are we responding in love? We might say things that are biblically correct or defend our faith, but when there is no love and acceptance underlying our words, we are nothing but a clanging cymbal.

Our words represent our heart. Pride, self-justification and the need of approval from others seep into our posts and responses.

I know I have not always responded on CC with patience, love, or kindness and have allowed my "self" to get in the way. What's more important is that we sit back and allow God to examine our heart. Usually when I do this, I'm disgusted in what is found within me.

We do not know what people face in their lives. Some people come here to find true fellowship. Instead, they find themselves judged and deemed to not "fit in" with the members here for numerous reasons. Its easy to fall into the trap of going along with the crowd, whether on CC or in the world. I'm just as guilty of this as anyone else... and Im working on this.

I continually remind myself that the world's definition of strength and confidence are very different from heaven's definition.

The bottom line, for me, is that I need to humble myself, put others above me, examine my true motives, exercise self-control, and do my best to be a light. Whether this is acknowledged or approved by others is irrelevant. His approval is the only one that truly matters.

Jesus had trolls.

When they arrived, he didn't let them confuse and harm those around him.

He confronted them.

How did he confront them?

He simply recognized them for what they were,
and then asked them questions to make them reveal their true intentions.

Sometimes he was harsher than that.

Obviously none of us are Jesus, and none of us can follow his examples perfectly.

But nonetheless, we ARE to follow his examples.

That's what he told us to do.

I'm very sorry if you don't like the teachings of Jesus.

I'm sorry you think you speak for Jesus and think you are omniscient with strangers coming into a chat.

1. I'm sorry you were unable to be honest about what I actually said... so that you had to change my words.

2. I'm sorry also that you're unable to use simple Bible principles to evaluate a new person's own words... as Jesus tells us to do.

I'm sorry you have so many problems with words.

The answer is, IF you engage in conversation with a troll on a thread that goes round and round and has no purpose, then stop posting because obviously they're here to get their ruckus off and cause strife.. WE can't improve a person unless THEY want to be improved. I can't speak for anyone else, but I don't learn anything from trolls. Except how to build up my frustration level..lol.. If they're open to hearing about God, then great. But we can't make them hear Him. That's on them, not us.

for 'us', oh my, not only have we 'learned' from trolls, but from the wanna be trolls, and the old trolls,
and the in training trolls, and of course, the trolls that we meet all during the day, whenever we have
to bite the bullet and go OUT INTO this OH so NASTY WORLD...:rolleyes:

You self-justified. Stop playing that game! And, dammit stop pretending it's my fault!

No way you knew if that guy was a troll. You just called him one to clear your guilt of not knowing how to deal with him.

SOP on this site.

Blue asks why good people leave? That's why! They see the hypocrisy of the wolf pack. They see hurting people being bombarded with self-righteousness called "discernment." They see the Phariseeism, and after trying to get people to soften up, for Christ Sake, once they realize they will always get the Ugly chant, they look for other good people.

Max? You can be good people. You usually are. But this troll thing is your weakness. You are so sure everyone who isn't exactly normal is a troll. Some are. Not all. And even for those who are, so what?

Jesus didn't call others trolls. He told them what they were doing that made them Pharisees, or unwilling to come to God. BIG difference from what you do!

You say students are taught to do this in their psychology class? Why do you think that is? The profs are out to disprove God, and we're handing them the proof on silver platters. Get over yourself and start thinking what we should do vs. how we've been doing it.

Drog got one hell of a lot of proof there was very little of God here and very little understanding of God from the people who claim they are God's. For what? Because you have thoughts and need to express them?

There was no need there. There was self-centered desire! Stop it! God has you further along than that!

You think you can improve others? How's that working for you?

And going round and round bothers you? Then get off the merry-go-round. Nothing says you have to stick around. And you're goal is to learn? Since when? Not many threads on this site that give the possibility to learn, but I don't see you there. (Nothing wrong with that. Like I said, not may around, so there starts to be expectation of nothing to learn. That means most of us are here to do something else other than learn!)

The best I can do with true trolls is to cut down on their excuse list. That's my thing. Willie has a cool idea -- friend them. It doesn't have to be the goal of learning.

But anyone who spends their time in that much rage is hurting. Why flame the pain? And if you do flame, doesn't that make you a troll at that moment?

And again, no one is open to hear God. That's a given explained in John 3:16-21. We don't want anything to do with God but he lights us up anyway.

Of all the come-to-faith stories I've ever heard, the commonality was, "I was angry, left, and somehow God got me when I least expected it." What makes them (us) angry? Some fool thinks God is real. What are you expecting coffee and cookies from someone who thinks you're an idiot? That might happen if you meet them again after God's light comes on them, but not going to happen when they're angry. lol

Why are you so self-absorbed that's what you got out of that? I'm aware Utah sent you over here to be your usual self.

I like trolling the trolls. I also really enjoy trolling the self-righteous until they put their personality out on display.

I derive too much pleasure out of being a jerk to other people, and it's something I need to work on.

What I got out of this thread is the truth that healthy people don't require others to submit to them.

First of all Lynn, stop swearing. You took the Lord's name in vain and I'll report that post for it's profanity, to be edited. Second, you are more hostile than usual, and I'm obviously not the only one who's noticed. Third, YOU are self justifying and getting on OUR ascots, when YOU YOURSELF have given trolls holy heck..

And who is Willie to give advice on friending trolls? HE'S usually the one pointing them out, and calling US fools and idiots for engaging them.. So go take a break from CC. You obviously need one.. And quit being such a holier than thou prim.
