We are a young family who changed our whole lives to take in our niece and nephew to change their lives. We took a leap of faith when we opened our hearts and home to two children who never had much of anything. Their mother a homeless drug addict and a father whom was facing medical issues. We were the only hope for these children. With their visits with their mother becoming less frequent and full of disappointment and hurtful to them. Six months later their father was in the hospital, As we celebrated my niece's 8th birthday her father passed away. It was days later that we found out and our world crumbled. Over the next month their mother stopped coming to visits and 4 months later we got full custody of my niece and nephew.

My nephew has fetal alcohol syndrome and has many special needs. And My niece is almost a full grade behind in school and is having many problems coping not only the loss of her father but the rejection and isolation from her mom too. My heart breaks for these kids and we are trying our hardest to raise them as our own.

My Biological Son has developmental delay, Adhd and dyslexia and has been struggling to the adjustment of our family change. And my youngest child is behaviorally challenged and speech delayed. With all of these emotional, developmental and physical challenges all of my children have I am a full time stay at home mom. While my husband is employed it seems usually enough for food on the table and roof over our heads. So taking in two more children was a huge financial burden and our credit has suffered as we were unable to pay some medical bills.

While we are so grateful for everything we have there is one thing that we need and that is a vehicle that we can all fit into and feel safe in. My van broke down just after Christmas And after saving for a couple of months to get it taken in to get it fixed we agreed to $300 in repairs to get the car back up and running. After two days the shop called and told us it was going to be another 300 to get a new computer for my car. Saddened by our financial inability to pay we had to save up for the repairs and had them drop off the vehicle at our home. We spent another month struggling to save up the additional funds needed. Once we had enough to get it fixed we brought it up to the car repair shop. After two long days of waiting to finally have a running vehicle The shop manger called us and asked us to come in and talk to him. He sat us down and told us it was 80% fixed and that it may never be 100% again. They told us it needed a new battery as it was sitting in the Minnesota winter. We were just happy it was running. After one trip to the grocery store and to the library. It started dying while driving it. So we we invested another $100 in a new battery. It lasted one day before it wouldn't start and needed to be jumped to make it home. I was sure it was the alternator. So i brought it to another shop to get a second opinion. I was told i has to bring it back to the shop that worked on it and i needed to tell them they needed to fix it. They wanted to charge me more diagnosis fees. I refused to pay them a cent to figure what they did to make it die while driving it. So i got a call last Friday that they fixed the problem and were going to only charge me an additional $100 and promised me that it was fixed. Well it lasted 2 days. And wont even star when jumped. And now we are no longer able to spend any more money on this van.

So this is where you come into our lives and help us restore some humanity and faith into our children's lives. We are asking for u to help us fund a reliable vehicle for our family so we can make it to the park, play dates, girl scouts, boy scouts, school concerts, the grocery store, doctor appointments and when summer comes the beach. Please find it in your heart to help a our big family find a vehicle big enough for us all. Thank you for listening to our story and if our able to help thank you for the generosity!
