When he realized there were no potatoes is about the way I would react. 'I am not thankful for that.'
Potatoes sure are yummy. Especially those small red potatoes with butter and garlic salt on them. They have a brand at the store, not sure what the brand is but it comes with like 30 of them and you just heat them in them in the microwave. A perfect side dish for any meal.

who needs potatoes with Thanksgiving anyway when there's stuffing!
It depends on the stuffing. I think I've experienced more terrible stuffing dishes than good ones lol. It's one of those foods I usually only like when I make it.
So, I'll be safe and go for potatoes when I don't know who made the stuffing/dressing lol.

My dad’s garlic mashed potatoes are out of this world though. He literally cooks everything. The same people have been coming over for decades, just because of how amazing his cooking is. He literally prepares meals from scratch without using any cans or process foods. You can taste the quality.

When I was a child, we stopped eating out, cause when day my dad had this epiphany that he can’t stand the food at restaurants, so he decided that he’d become the family chef and create quality food from scratch. It’s one of his biggest passions and he takes a lot of pride in his cooking. If his food doesn’t taste good and you tell him, it kills him inside because he wants to create the best of the best.

My dad makes amazing mashed potatoes and amazing stuffing. The only times I’ve ever had bad stuffing is when my mom would make it out of a dry box.

My grandmother's recipe is delicious and "healthy" if you can call stuffing healthy...

1-2 bags stuffing
2-3 celery hearts
1 onion
1 apple
1 drumstick or neck and inners
cook until soft
add two cups of turkey broth + 2 cups water
mix and put in the oven. It is the best stuffing ever!

I'm a cornbread stuffing gal. I make cornbread from scratch. Leave it out to go stale, break it up and use it. It's my favorite way to make dressing. Everyone has their own way. As long as you find it to be larapin, that's what matters!

My dad’s wife married him because on their first date at his apartment, she never met a guy so passionate about cooking. He wore a real chefs hat and chef apron while cooking and still does to this day. She thought it was the goofiest thing in the world

well it taste like stuffing but with potatoes... cornbread stuffing sounds better
I’d have to agree with you on that one. You all are making me actually look forward to thanksgiving with family. I usually dread family gatherings but it always tends to go well and actually gets better every year. I think those younger year negative moments are still in the back of my mind but it seems like every year everyone is more well behaved

People tend to mellow out as they get older. That's for the best. I have a fattening side dish that might win them over.
