Is that ever true in the world that we live in today. There are many differnt types of people in the religious realm. You have two extreams: there are the ones who think that we are still under the Old Covenant and they are trying hard to be good so they can make it to heaven. People like that try real hard and no matter how hard they try often they still don't know if they are good enough to make it.
Then you have those that are on the other extreme that take advantage of Christs blood. They have doubt in their minds as to whether or not they are a Christian. And then they remind themselves that they once said a prayer and now they can do anything and still make it to Heaven. Well the problem with this is, its not about being good since are righteousness is a filthy rages, but if the Holy Spirit is living in us and we alowed him to put to death the deeds of our flesh, then we should be able to see fruit being produced by the way we live and not have those above atributes. What does the Bible say about willfuly sinning.
For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins. Hebrews 10:26
But notice how tha passage went on to say, " Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. They just can't realize that there own attemps will never save them. But that putting your faith in Jesus alone and alowing Him to change and regenerate you.
