Well yes and that is precisely why I added "British a close 2nd".

Bingo! That's the idea. When life's tough, remember the good things.

More pet likes:
AIR CONDITIONING!

Hubby let me help fix the toilet. (And eventually, I'll fix it right. Too hot now. lol)

Raspberries and blackberries.

Peacock feathers. (I like the feathers. The peacocks are kind of rude and messy.)

Long swaths of time in complete silence.
Aircon is nice, just not too cold. esp when travelling fast in zigzaggy roads... i dont like the feeling.

I havent tasted fresh raspberries and blackberries and i imagine they are likeable, just like other berries and small fruits out here that arent that common-- u cant even buy in the mkts because they are so few and harvested so few in between the next harvest. When we were in grade school, a sis introduced me to a yellow-small-fruit bearing tree that we passed by walking to school. I never knew what it's called and the trees along the way have long been gone, but just the memory of picking fresh, mildly sweet fruits from low trees and bushes warms the heart.

The smell of my grandmother's house. I don't know why.

A cat purring on my lap.

That mental disconnect feeling you get when you suddenly switch from (christian) rock to (christian) bluegrass... or vice versa... and with all the styles in my collection it's easy to get that feeling.

Chocolate melting in my mouth. Chocolate should never be chewed up, that's a waste of good chocolate.

On the sweetness scale, blackberries and raspberries are closer to a kiwi. Not so much a pomegranate. All sweet, no tangy. (Did I pick fruits you do know? I seem to know your plants as much as you know mine -- not much. lol)

The bottle I've got in the pantry is a The Glenlivet. I like it fine. I don't have a refined palette, so I know very little about the quality of one Scotch versus another, but I know The Glenlivet is much better than the swill I used to drink in my 20s.

I have seen thse, had pomegranate cordial too-) but not the actual fruits. The small yellow fruit i was referring too doesnt even seem to be online?? but they are abt the size of chick peas. Just cute. There are also bignay and aratiles locally, the former sweet, sour and very tart depending on ripeness, and the latter like small soft, sweet cherries w/ very small seeds u just swallow.

i cant believe it! i have lots of these sound of music songs memorized, then wen i think of the next lines...took me abt 3or 4 attempts to remember wat was next...'bright copper kettles n warm woolen mittens'! so this is how it goes wen u no longer sing some of ur favorite things for a while! someone suggested i do crossword puzzles again as brain exercise, so i have started.
as for other likes, hearing good news from a distant land.
