I highly doubt Jesus lives posted this to make fun of people who follow politics. I haven't seen that at all. Every 4 year's we have the same old thing. Commercials, conventions, bad behavior from both candidates. It gets old and this year is more of the same.

No one is making fun of anyone that follows politics.

No one is making anyone get into the political debate ..but to start a thread to make fun of the people who are involved and act as if the whole thing don't matter or has no importance... Is misguided in my view... To make a thread about how much you hate politics and then talk about politics is kinda odd anyways.
You need to lighten up a little bit....It is o.k. to laugh once in a while....and rather than get into a heated debate and try and bite someone's head off Blond decided to go for some comic relief. If you can't take a joke then just leave you don't have to stay and accuse us of not being Christian or having political problems....Learn to laugh a little will ya? lol

Don't worry Sister.........all of this WAS PREDESTINED from the beginning......NONE OF US had ANY CHOICE in being here to read this Thread, and you HAD NO CHOICE in Authoring the Thread......

IT IS ALL THE WILL OF GOD!

So, if someone is all twisted outta shape.......IT'S GODS FAULT.........BLAME HIM!

Or, just VOTE: NO to ALL OF THE ABOVE........

Especially when those so "sold out" involved try and tell us how important it is to our future, and the Nation's future, AND THEN nominate TWO of the MOST UNQUALIFIED Candidates in the HISTORY of Politics........Talk about a joke.....

If anyone truly believed that this election is so direly important to the future of our Nation.........then they would throw out both of the current candidates, throw out all of Congress.......AND START FROM SCRATCH.
Amen preach it Brother Elephant......

Blond is writing in a candidate as I can't go for the two mainstream ones.....I believe that takes care of my civic duty. As for Christian I believe I still am one unless God wants to tell me different.... that one was for Mitspa.....

thanks , Jesus lives, for the head's up on the jokes. Awesome. Yeah, l'm looking forward to the end of this campaine. but you know what, the next two years are going to be harendous. And I ask God....."Why these two, Lord." And then I think maybe it's actually part of God's plan for bringing down America finally. What better two than these two.
You read as though your looking forward to your Countries demise Why? Surely you should be praying for things to improve.

Thank God our elections in NZ are not so drawn out. I think the USA is not going to have a president they'll be proud of this time.

Its still talking about it.. and lots of it is a joke, but the future of our country and our children's hope to live in a decent society is at stake ... maybe you guys need to try and understand what is at stake here and take your responsibility as Christians and citizens more serious?

Been a long time since we had one we were proud of............doesn't matter who is IN OFFICE, at best, just over 50% of the Nation is proud of them.......well, approving of them......not so much proud......

It is funny how people recognise they need a leader, vote them into power, then moan
about the one they chose and say they are all corrupt, evil, and should be shot, and
then are surprised no one actually wants the job.

The only heroic presidents are those who are so far in the past you forget the flaws
and just see the positive achievements, which normally are very few.

The only answer is to take ownership and pray God will give wisdom and bless the
nutcase who is fool hardy enough to imagine there is any value in them taking office.

I am doing the same. Most election cycles, we are left with the choice of voting for the "lesser" of two evils. Sadly, this time, we are left with choosing evil.........or...........evil. The "lesser" part has been removed.

What I love is that those who get all upset about our approach to all of this, seem to want to call into question our preforming our Christian duties.......hmm.......Are we not to put our faith/trust in God? Are we not to trust that God will not STILL be LORD, AND KING regardless of who wins? And, if the gripe is that one or the other may destroy our Nation, well, would that not HASTEN His return? And, not for nothing but.....

Gotta say you're right. Being president seems like being a bus driver where every passenger has a brake - then they complain that the driver isn't getting anywhere.

Not to mention the jokes that will be re-re-re-re-re-re-recycled for the next president. I swear if I hear that joke about the two brazilian troops one more time...

Ellie gave me a good phrase. (She got it from an author, but I forgot his name.)
"The evil of two lessers."

The blurbs on the mainstream and independent news outlets regarding the election remind me of some cheesy movie trailer or a bad Mexican soap opera.

I'm probably just letting my defeatist attitude drive me, but I figure I have two choices - either I find something to laugh about in the situation, or I can get upset and rant and rave. I choose to be like Statler and Waldorf and just throw popcorn at the actors.

There was a specific episode of South Park that parallels the lunacy of this election cycle perfectly.

I don't think anyone has wished for them to be shot. At least from what I have seen. If anyone wishes violence or death, then there's something wrong with the person.

Do you remember the good old days when politicians were humble,
told the truth, remembered they were servents (not superstars),
took their role of running the country seriously,
treated the role as prime minster/president as an honour and a privilege not a right,
and did it all under God's devine guidance?

Na, neither do I, Moses and David were a bit before my time :p

I think it is good to laugh because it has gotten so personal and ugly. Christian mindset, God doesn't want that. Nor does He like that. He doesn't enjoy seeing His children sling mud at each other. At the end of the day, this doesn't take away our relationship with the Lord. And as for our responsibility as citizens, we go into it with whom we feel most comfortable with. But we'd be even more messed up if we couldn't take a moment and just laugh. That doesn't make it any less serious.
