I think they're fine. But too many people don't think though what they're getting.
Though, on a personal level, i don't like them on women. Its too masculine, even if you get a flower, butterfly, or any other stereotypical female tat. Doesn't matter if you get it on your ankle, your inner wrist, around your belly button, on your cleavage or a tramp stamp. But if i woman wants one, her choice.

I don't have a problem with people having them, but I do believe that many later regret some of the ones they got while very young.

I have friends who have gotten tattoos while drunk (I don't understand how, as it is illegal for the tattoo artist to do that), and wonder if they still thought of it as a good idea once they got sober :p

I don't see anything wrong with tattoos. It's a work of art, can even be a representation of faith. Do all need one? No. You should carefully consider one before getting it.

Lots of people trying to become tattoo artists, many willing to work out of their own home, perhaps not even licensed. If you want to get good and hammered and get tatt'd up there's always someone willing to make a quick buck. Or worse yet, your friend gets ahold of a tattoo gun, haha. Free Tats! =P

I don't want one, but I don't dissuade others from getting them. Well, maybe if my grandmother wanted a dragon all the way down her back.

I wouldn’t want one. What happens when you don’t want it anymore?
Usually? People are unforgiving of themselves.

A mature person, however, realizes that you have to live with choices and doesn't fret too much over them, forgiving himself for any decisions he made that he now disagrees with.
