something on my heart here:
A teardrop crosses a cheek,
a doubt consumes a heart
And mourning sets in
Though she knows not where to start
It hurts more than she can say
and she cannot even try
She can only walk away
She can only say goodbye...
He bites his bottom lip,
He can't let her see him cry
So he pretends that it's okay
While he feels his heart die
It hurts more than he can show
So he shows no grief at all
But as she walks away,
He lets a single teardrop fall
You can almost hear the sound
As teardrops fall to the ground
It's goodbye now, and there's no turning back it seems
It's farewell now, goodbye to each other and their dreams
She tore his pictures off the wall
And threw all the gifts away
She had to do it while she's mad
Or they'd never go away
And when the job was done
She lay on the floor and cried
In this empty hollow room
Where he once laid by her side
He broke everything she'd bought
Threw her clothes out the front door
Then set fire to every note
Til there was ash and nothing more
And as he sat there in the corner
His back against the wall
He could feel his heart exploding
And like rain, teardrops did fall
You can almost hear the sound
As teardrops fall to the ground
It's goodbye now, and there's no turning back it seems
It's farewell now, goodbye to each other and their dreams
She stares at the telephone
He swears that he won't call
She dies to dial the number
He's still against the wall
He cries out her name in the silence
She swears she hears his voice
He wants to tell her loves her again
She fears he's made his choice
And the tears fall down like rain
She'll never see him again
He'll never again hold his dreams
Yet again, love isn't what it seems
And through it all
You can almost hear the teardrops fall...
A teardrop crosses a cheek,
a doubt consumes a heart
And mourning sets in
Though she knows not where to start
It hurts more than she can say
