After talking to a guy who works at the pawn shop, that price is temporary and will rise to $14.99 a box soon. He said the Blazer Brass ammo will also go up soon from $10.99 a box to $12.99 a box. I better jump soon on the Sig ammo!
Yes, I agree.... I saw some .380 ammo on sale at Cabelas for $12.59 a box a few days ago. I went in day before yesterday to spend a Christmas gift card there on that ammo, and it had gone back up to $13.99 a box. You snooze, you lose, I guess...

It's a little irritating (even though I understand the reasons for it) that .380 ammo is so much more expensive than 9mm.... as so many people have started carrying and shooting the .380, I would think that prices would come down to almost 9mm prices, but they haven't yet.

.380 ammo is almost as expensive as .45 ACP stuff..... and that's crazy, from a "cost of components" standpoint.

edit: Cabela's puts Blazer Brass ammo on sale on a regular basis.... Usually at around $9.99 a box....but it's usually the 115gr stuff. No problem, unless you really want the 124gr. For punching holes in paper, it's great.

That should be fun. My wife is going to do it as soon as she gets in a little more range time with her new pistol. I plan to take the class with her, just for a refresher.

If you get good instructors, you will learn a LOT about the use of lethal force. Those classes do a lot of good, in teaching decision making if you are ever in that terrible situation.

The best nutshell takeaway...... only use lethal force as self defense if it is the ONLY option you have left.

Good luck with y'all's class.... I think you'll enjoy it.

Oh... and the shooting part of it is easy-peasy. I think you could probably skip the "long" targets and still pass.

Wow.... SigArms has just introduced a REVOLUTIONARY new sub-compact 9mm... the P365. It has a capacity of 10 rounds, and is right at 1" wide... striker fired. It's a very slick looking little 9mm. MSRP is $599 or so, which should translate to a street price of right at $500.

It's about time that Sig catches up with the Taurus PT111 G2. Capacity 12 rounds, 1.1" wide, striker fired, street price right at $235.

But, it IS a Sig. And yes, I would love to have one. But..... money talks. Sometimes it screams....

I right now live in Ohio, we are a carry concealed sate. I believe it should be legal in every state. The crime rate goes DOWN!! My niece, who turned 18 last March, I took her to the gun range to learn how to shoot. When she is 21 I will buy her, her first handgun.

I don't know what Ohio law is, but you may not have to wait until she is 21, to buy her that handgun.

You do in Ohio, and to get your license to carry a concealed weapon. But you do not need a license or permit to buy a handgun just be 21. You can have a rifle at 18. Thank G-d NRA strong in Ohio!!!!

I've owned handguns since I was 15 in Virginia. I didn't know if Ohio had a minimum age for posession. We don't here. I had to be 21 to purchase from a federal firearms licensed dealer, but a private sale, no regulations here. Also, the feds don't care if you buy it, and gift it, as long as the person isn't otherwise prohibited. My first handgun was a present for my 15th birthday.
That 21 years old rule from the feds is just for purchasing from a licensed dealer, not posession.

It has to be from a dealer... the statute... I have a Glock 26 (small hands) with a concealed license, I do not know if I would break laws buying her a handgun now at 19... well March... I will look into it... Thank you. Ohio min. age is 18 rifles and 21 handguns. We do not need permits or licenses to buy just a permit to carry concealed at age 21. Can you carry concealed in Virginia?... leageley, that is?

Virginia requires a permit to carry concealed, must be 21. We didn't have shall issue permits until I was a teen. Technically, my 7 year old son could open carry in a holster here. When I started driving, I use to carry my gun in a zipped up bag, that doesn't count as concealed here, as you would have to unzip something to get to it. I belonged to a local range, and I wore mine on my hip to the range back then.
Ammo was a different story. It's regulated by commercial sale, by age. I had legal work arounds for that too. It can be gifted also, but I've been making my own since I was 13. Back then, primers and gun powder weren't regulated. For all I know, it still may not be. Virginia hasn't added a new gun restriction since Wilder was Governor. We have repealed several laws though.

I do not believe guns should be taken lightly, however, our forefathers knew and understand, what , in my opinion, we do not. That statement does not even imply to the fact that are murder % was at an all time high, at the end of 2016, that when a 70 year old woman was shot, the police called it a suspicious death... ARE YOU KIDDING ME!...lol. I really do believe that in the time of Daniel when Nebuchadnezzar ordered people to bow to the statue of gold, or you will be put to death that was a rough neighborhood. You cannot get rougher than that! And the Lord protected the man of G-d. Yet when Esther became queen the king changed his edict, by G-d's doing so us Jews could take up arms. Bad people already have the guns, illegally, G-d protects me and mine, but if we have to take up arms it is BIBLICAL... AND WE WILL!!!!! WITH G-D'S PROTECTION!!!!!
