that depends...

hospitals are free if you have to stay there (if you're committed or whatever you call it)
dental care is free until one turns 18
doctors are expensive, so are medicines, even on prescription


but all in all I am VERY glad that hospitals are free

In Belgium, medical care is accessible for everyone. I go to the doc, pay him, send my invoice to the social office, and get back about 95% of the money. Thats for everyone so.

But, even more important, Belgian laws says that refusing any (medical) aid is against the law. So doctors FIRST operate, then ask about money.
