One of my mother's-in-law asked me to go to this movie with her yesterday, and I wasn't doing anything, so I went with her. I enjoyed the movie, because it reminded me of what is important, and how easy it is to get away from the truth of what Jesus wants. I think many of us have no idea what it's like to suffer for Christ, to be hungry, tired, sore, etc...,. So often we're fixated on signs and wonders, manifesting gifts and other extraneous activities, that we forget not just what(the good news), but who should be important to us. I know there are thousands of people just like the man I wrote about in my testimony, but who cares about them? There are seven churches in my home town, but none of them go and talk to the people like me. Only Mormons and Jehovah's witnesses are going to see them, and they have nothing to offer but ungodly fellowship without salvation. We all need to care more for the Lost in this world, for as Jesus said,"The harvest truly is plenteous, but the laborers are few."

Was kind of wondering if that movie was any good. (Oh, and what it's name is. I think it's "Paul," but not sure.)

The title was 'Paul, apostle of Christ'. There was a lot of focus on Nero burning Christians, and I'm sure there were questionable events but I enjoyed the fact that Paul continually directed the focus of all his conversations to Christ and His power, and emphasized love when some wanted to fight against Nero's persecution.

I'm at the end of studying Acts. And, more than once, I thought, "This would be a good movie, except rumor has it, it already is." lol

Did they do the shipwreck justice? (14 days of storm, more than once Paul tells them "this is a bad idea," then he saves them all, when they were just thinking of saving themselves and letting the prisoners die. And then three months enjoying the people of Malta.)

I completely agree that there were much more interesting events in Paul's journeys, and that one would've shown him being bitten by the deadly serpent and just shaking it off into the fire as if it were nothing. I guess the movie wanted to focus on his last days, and what was going on in Rome. I wouldn't have went to see it if my mother-in-law hadn't requested I go with her, but I did get a chance to talk about Jesus with her as a result, so I was half for the chance to do that.

Did you like the movie enough to recommend it?

I guess I'd have to say probably not. I like Jim Caviezel, but I didn't care for his portrayal of Luke. And the way he talked about writing Paul's letters was a little weird.
