You can't yet, cuz you haven't learned integrals yet (I suppose). The looong S with smaal circle symbol means you have to integrate (closed). the d leans you have to derive. The other weird symbols look impressive but are constants (like µ0, e0, ...)

am i right in thinking phi is an angle so these are not straight lines

what are E and B?
is the bottom one velocity or distance?
E = Electrical field
B = Magnetic field

Note that they are both vectorial (meaning they have not only a value, but also a direction). We wrote the down with a little arrow above...

You are thinking mechanical. Think electrical. No velocity!
