Hi, :)

This past weekend, while at a Women's Conference, when the Word was being read during one of the services, a word from the Scripture caused my soul to leap within me. I hope you know what I mean. :) Jesus revealed to me that I should take note of the specific words from the Scriptures that leap off the page and cause my soul/spirit/heart to catch fire because there is a reason. Everyone has a unique call on their lives and I believe that there is a tie between the words that leap and the call of God on our lives. :)

Here are my words (so far):
pure/purely/purity/purify
refine/refined/refinement/refiner's fire
holy/holiness
Romans (12, specifically, but anytime I hear the book of Romans is going to be read or is read, my spirit quickens)

What are your words?

Wow, this has to be one of the best threads I have seen in a long time. I also have noticed how scripture can pop out to you and even books. I have felt my spirit and soul quicken as well. The book that speaks to me is the book of Psalms. David and I have so much in common when It comes to God. I say things to God and then sometimes find the very words I spoke in that book. it's so crazy lol. And then when I read some of his prayers asking God for things it almost always is my very situation and the very things I seek. I have to wonder what the connection between David and I are?

There was a day when I was struggling with some very painful corrections and stretching and growth and I cried out to God, "It's like You're untwisting me!" Then, about 15 minutes later, I opened up Proverbs and there it was!

Don’t walk around with a chip on your shoulder,
always spoiling for a fight.
Don’t try to be like those who shoulder their way through life.
Why be a bully?
“Why not?” you say. Because God can’t stand twisted souls.
It’s the straightforward who get his respect.

Proverbs 3:30-32, the Message

I remember the first time I ever read the book of Hebrews. It was kind of like one of those close and personal experiences with God. Even now when I hear the book being brought up in church or referenced in a book I'm reading, I feel that intensity again.

One story that has also just been so huge in my mind for the last several years, is the story of Jacob wrestling with the angel of God in the desert.

Not one particular word, but recently this verse popped out for me:

And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the Lord. - Psalm 40:3

As a singer, I've often wondered about these "new songs," but it's important to see that it's a "new song in my mouth" meaning it may not be an altogether new song, but it's new to my mouth! I also noted how the new song leads others to trust in the Lord.
