There is a connection between Hitler's birthday and quite a few acts of domestic terrorism in this country, including Columbine. Nut jobs like to celebrate his birthday by planning attacks around it. The Oklahoma Bombing, the shooting at Virginia Tech a decade ago, a mass stabbing in Murrysville, PA, and the Boston Marathon bombing also happened around Hitler's birthday.
