This 'We Evolve Spiritually' nonsense.

I just heard some nonsense from a New Ager who claimed (arrogantly like it was an undeniable fact) that we all evolve spiritually.

Frankly I'm tired of this kind of nonsense.

There is no mercy, compassion and love in notions of evolution, whether science based biology, or pseudo-science nonsense based spiritual ramblings.

There is also this weird notion of 'soul contracts', where we are reincarnating souls who 'sign up' for all the bad things that happen in life in a contract prior to birth, in order to help us grow and evolve spiritually.

I've heard it said from such people that a child getting raped, agreed to it on some level based on a soul contract and that there is no real victims.

This sort of heresy is sick, but it's all around us, with things like The Secret and New Age.

Sorry, just ranting.

New Age is very, very old. Things like "spiritual evolution", "soul contracts", and countless other things are very old magic. Perhaps it's in a new package, but trust me, these are old concepts.
