what's crazy is how many people struggle with sex and can't openly talk about it without being frowned upon. I see lots who want to be faithful to god and this is their stummbling block
like ugly said well what about other people's struggles. why not make those permissable as well. good point. obviously it wouldn't work. curious though did u read all the comments? so you know it wasn't sinning reading the post, but the way you responded well could be seen as sinful.
I agree we ought to be able to talk about it, but the trouble is, we may not like what we hear. What does God tell us? thats what matters. Gods Word is what we need to cleave too....'cling to' because it is the Truth. The world is full of relative truth and that will never free any of us.
Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not on your own understanding. In all they ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct thy paths. Prov. 3:5-6.
If we really dwell on this scripture, and all the others regarding God and our love and devotion for Him, how we show Him we love Him, its through obedience first and foremost. Gods will in our lives is what we need to aspire too...it is not an easy life being a Christian. Tozer said if you have not been criticised or questioned on our faith in the past week...something is wrong!! We are called to 'pick up our cross' and walk, not jog merrily through the mall :) we ought not to just carry on doing what ever we feel like. Feelings and desires have nothing to do with it....filthy rags!! I think its really sad that when secular researchers look at the divorce rate between Christians & Non-Christians, the abortion rate, domestic violence, alcoholism...they find little difference between those of faith and those without...no wonder so many say, 'whats the point?' We are hardly telling the un-believer we have 'joy in the Lord' :) We are not called to be the same as the world, but to be in the world, witnessing to it. By the Holy Spirit dwelling in us!! A Supernatural life! there are many things we may want...but do we need them? are they what God wants for us? of course we can have multiple partners, we can also have babies to multiple partners either by accident or design...we can take drugs and drink like fishes but if we do...I do not think God will be able to Bless us and give us the life He wants for us. This is not Hattie's ideas...its the Word of God.
I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you and watch over you.' Ps. 32:8
But, we need to walk with Him, not 'do our own thing' and expect Him to bless us. Yes, He is a loving God and slow to anger...but He is GOD. Almighty, creator God. We need to remember that too. He calls us to obedience. Our bodies are temples, in dwelt by the Holy Spirit...we need to respect God 'in us'. He that has the Son has Life and its a life of expectation!! <><

it wouldn't make you a better Christian BUT i never had considered going outside the marriage until i found out my(worldly) husband had been livin la vida loca for sometime and the only reason i stayed was because of my Christian upbringing but even though it's been years since that happened i started to wonder how it would feel to be with someone else???to answer your question about if God gave us the green light to go .. then i would get a speeding ticket

for someone like me that believes in one man & one woman ...it's a struggle because i still feel that urge to be with someone other than my husband

i wondered what if my husband would say it was okay but unfortunately he got extremely upset about my question and reminded me that i was a Christian

so if God allowed sex outside of marriage ..you wouldn't feel the guilt , shame or betrayal and it would save time as far as sneaking around, lying, having to face your spouse knowing what you did, no hiding the cell phone..etc..

by the way i was always a great wife and mother..

with all of the men i see on a daily basis that are extremely attractive it's an even harder struggle maybe because i think i should be able to get a payback partner but i know it still wouldn't make it right

**very thought provoking question
