Both readings the ants have stood out to me, as though they were like locusts were in the Bible, though locusts are clean even though destructive, and I cannot determine if ants are clean or not; the number four seeming (to me) to be foundational and basic to bringing things to completion in the physical, do they represent some prime principle, a spiritual principle of cleansing and renewal, something you want to harness but have no control over... ? Tearing down to build on more solid ground, this phrase has struck me many times in my own life... the only thing that comes to me from the second dream is that a transitional phase is indicated via the crossing a large and varied bridge from one area to another; there is danger and yet you ignore the warnings, which does not harm you. You are blessed.

Yes the ants I found to be very significant and also the fact there were four of them and the way they fought and the way the second prevailed over the first, the third prevailed over the first two, and the fourth the biggest of all prevailed over all three. I don't think they represented any principal of cleansing or renewal though. My interpretation was the ants represented the four beast kingdoms of the earth and man which Daniel talks about.

An interesting interpretation on the second dream and the second bridge, I like this interpretation of the second bridge.

I will give the interpretation of the First dream in a little bit after I eat and give a chance for anyone else to expound on the dreams further. I know the second dream cannot be fully interpreted correctly unless the first dream is interpreted correctly. The closest person to interpreting the first dream was Miri.

The cleansing and renewal is what you are attempting in your garden, the "tearing down to rebuild on more solid ground," (in a manner of speaking) the ants were brought forth to help but did not cooperate as you do not have control over them as a spiritual force (is what I meant :)). So you see them as more destructive force like locusts usually are in the Bible? I don't really understand your reference to the four beast kingdom, it sounds apocalyptic :p:D

Well this is fairly close. No the ants were not like locusts nor originally seen as a destructive force. They were made to be a constructive force, to tend the garden, but instead they warred with each other which I beheld and I allowed their war to continue. It wasn't until their war went up into the pine trees at the edge of the world that I became angry and hewed the trees down and plowed the earth and the edge where the trees once stood. The Daniel reference is Daniel 7. Indeed, I reckon it was an apocalyptic dream whereas I felt the second dream was more personal. I will give the full interpretation in a bit.

The first dream:

In the first dream I was out in my back yard at a small patch of garden. I dug through the garden making the soil suitable and freshly finely chopped. There were the beginning of two plants which I did not recognize planted in the garden. The first was green and pleasant, the other was fully grown but was mostly dead. I cut off the dead parts and threw them away leaving the stump of the plant to grow back. Then I said to myself I will make helpers to help keep the soil tilled and fresh and to help grow the plants in the garden.

I spit on the ground and out of my spit came four ants. I said these ants will help keep the soil fresh, but the ants began to fight each other and strive together and I was displeased with them. The first ant was on its back fighting the second ant, the second ant strove on top of the first ant and was prevailing over him and the third ant entered the fray prevailing over both the first two and they fought in a confused circle as ants do. The forth ant was biggest of all and prevailing on top of the churning mess of the three ants. The ants fought all across the garden until they came to the edge of it and they were caught up into a pine tree and were gone.

I was angry for some reason that the ants fought and were gone and I began cutting down the pine trees which girded and hedged in the edge of the garden in haste and fury and I destroyed the garden and plowed into furrows the garden and the edge of it where the pine trees that I cut down once stood. Then I woke up.

This is the interpretation of the first dream:

My perspective as the perspective of the gardener is the perspective of God. God created the earth, which is the garden, and it was good, it was habitable, and it was fresh and new and fertile. In the earth God made life (the goodly plant) and God made knowledge (the deadish plant.) The plant of knowledge became overgrown and dried and dead and unprofitable just as man's knowledge while it has increased it is mostly made of empty vanities from the time of ancients to now. So God will cut off knowledge to the base that it may grow again.

God created man to inhabit and tend the earth, but man formed into four kingdoms, which is the meaning of the ants. The first kingdom strived with and was conquered by the second kingdom. Then a third kingdom entered the fray and prevailed over both the first and second kingdoms. Finally a fourth kingdom bigger and more terrible than the other three conquered the other three kingdoms and the four kingdoms warred across the earth under the dominion of the fourth kingdom. Finally the four kingdoms under dominion of the fourth kingdom exalted themselves to heaven, which is the meaning of the pine tree edge.

When their war taints heaven God will destroy heaven and cut it down and he will destroy the earth also. Both knowledge and carnal life are futile and will be destroyed in the plowing of earth. God will plow over both the heaven and the earth thereby creating a new creation where he will reign forever, Amen.

Just another comment about the dogs and how one seemed friendly.

A while back I had a dream in which I was stood in the street outside
a house, it wasn't my house. This big dog came up to me as if it was
going to bite me, it lunged at me but I saw it only had one large canine
tooth. This tooth then fell out and the gum started to bleed, it became
a toothless dog! I felt sorry for the dog and patted it and wondered
if I should take it to its home but i didn't know where it lived.

A few weeks later in real life I was on my way to church one Sunday.
It was early in the morning and no one else was about. As I walked
towards the bus stop I saw a large Japanese akita running around very
agitated over the road. It ran across to my side of the road and I
instinctively felt I should avoid it, so I started to cross the road to
walk on the other side. As I was crossing the road, I saw out of the
corner of my eye that it was running towards me. In a split second that
dream came to mind and I started praying and believing that it was
a toothless dog and could not harm me and that I must stay calm.

I felt its nose bump hard against the back of my leg, then it just shot off
somewhere. I looked around and couldn't even see where it had gone, it
had ran off so quickly, then I spotted it running away across some fields at
the bottom of the road.

Boy did I breath a sigh of relief! It didn't bite me! But even seeming
harmless friendly dogs in dreams can by symbolic of trouble or warnings, or
deception.

-------

Still in another dream, when my elderly aunt who I look after, was really
unwell in 2015. I had this awful dream that I was upstairs and I heard
these awful snarling screaming sounds of dogs fighting. It was blood curdling
I couldn't work out where the sound was coming from, so in the dream I
ran down stairs. Only the scene changed and I found myself standing in
the entrance foyer of a building with glass doors.

I looked through the doors and saw this awful man across the road
(this was a long dream lol). His face was all twisted up and grotesque, the
sounds of the screaming snarling dogs were surrounding him but there
was no dogs just the sounds. He had a sniper rifle and in the dream
I felt the bullets were like fiery darts and this mans was satan seeking
out who he could destroy.

The man looked towards the building where I was and started to cross
the road towards the building. I felt I needed to protect my aunt who was
in this place and I ran to the right down a corridor to find her and get
her to safety then I woke up!

A bit later my aunt fell at home and fractured her
shoulder.
She could not manage at home afterwards, so she went into
a rehab place for 6 weeks. It was awful I ended up putting in a 6 page
letter of complaint while she was in there. One of the doctors rang
me to apologise after and admitted they had made mistakes.

She developed delirium, her blood sugar levels plummeted they
kept giving my aunt insulin on an empty stomach! They didn't monitor
how much she was drinking or that she was leaving the awful coffee
they gave her so she got dehydrated which caused kidney problems.

The meals were awful so she stopped eating and no one noticed.
She fell out of bed three times as the bed was too high her feet
didn't touch the floor and there was no bed rail.

Anyway she developed all sorts of medical issues in there and
got delirium. She started hallucinating about dogs screaming and
fighting outside her room window! She mentioned this
every time I visited for weeks, but there were no dogs! Also the foyer
front entrance of this place was straight out of my dream, the lay out the
glass doors, even the corridor!

I knew then that the dream had been a warning, my aunt was in the sights
of the destroyer! I visited that place nearly every day and I felt I was
standing between her and a satanic attack, that I was her shield.

As I say dogs in dreams are not good!

One thing I often do is looks up key words in the bible when I have a
dream. Try looking up verses with dog, garden, ant etc. You would be surprised
how insightful this can be. Even if it makes not sense at all God can use His word to
open your spiritual eyes and give you correct lines of thinking to explore.
Then prayer about the dreams.
