Hi all, nice that there is already a thread for this.
I like a lot of the fifties and early-sixties films:
* The Ten Commandments (1956)
Absolutely gorgeous in its presentation of Christianity as Freedom.
* David and Bathsheba (1951)
* The Story of Ruth (1960)
Both about Virtue.
* King of Kings (1961)
The story from the Gospels.
Very nicely focused on the teachings of Jesus, rather than on spectacle alone.
Gorgeous music.
And I second the vote : - ) for Narnia.
