It's an old ..very old throwback to when Scoland did not have Christmas day off..so we had steak pie at new year, by way of celebration.

But to have steak pie at Christmas when all are free and turkey's are rampant, that's just ...bohemian !

Hahaha - well, my dad used to *is careful what he types here* pluck and feather geese and turkeys as a boy - now he can't stand the sight of a prepared bird - so we have steak or steak pie or something as a subsitute! But I like your Bohemian annalogy :)
