I do not have a least favorite lol
Me too, i could say, jb. I mean, there are definitely books i like to go back to like Proverbs even when reading other books, but i will not say such and such is my least favorite. One, even if Numbers presents God's chastening wrath against Israel, His disobedient people and their rebellion, i can read it like the other books. The unfamiliar names interest me, even as someone said, we do not know how to pronounce them. The last chapter also is abt the inheritance of women, where God shows He does not leave or forget the women, as He loves all.

I'm not sure...Judges, maybe? It honestly fluctuates, because I've learned things from most books of the Bible, so it depends upon what the book is teaching and what I'm going through.

But Judges, the "epic" book. The "exciting" book. The book with virtually no ritual Jewish stuff and no lists, where everything makes a lot more sense and you don't need a hefty commentary to just get through it. There are so few value judgements! It is terrifying to me, because they don't have the little clause "and the saying displeased the Lord..." They just give you the bare, brutal, ugly facts of life. Even the good guys are tied to the apron strings of a prophetess, have sons born of prostitutes, and use their God-given gifts to break their God-ordained vows. It is messed up and ugly; but even so, it serves to show us how merciful and forbearing God is.

While I respect it as canon, I do not understand the Songs of Solomon. Theologians claim it's about Christ and the church, but I have difficulty threading that needle.

Wow, a lot of hatred for Numbers. I actually enjoy the Books of Law. They're fascinating.

And if I had to pick one to pick on, it would have been Leviticus. I was a bit taken aback by the hatred of Numbers.
