I dunno, I haven't had a vacation in over two years, and I probably won't get one until my husband is done school....in another four years.

I would love to go to the UK, though. And Japan. And basically anywhere outside of North America because I've never been.

It was supposed to be Turkey to see friends but things in the city are too uncertain. I am sad as I really miss it there. It has been my second home. Instead I've just been talking to my girlfriends about doing a reunion in the UK with a long weekend in France. Five women from different countries getting together without kids or men. What could possibly go wrong? My goal is to avoid an international incident but that's no way to sell a manuscript! LOL

I have a friend who went to New Zealand.

He said it is magnificent.
South Africa is a beautiful country and we have a good standard of living here. The problem is the infrastructure is now starting to collapse because the government haven't done maintenance and very little upgrades (since 1994). People are employed in key positions without the proper skills and knowhow and the results are now starting to affect us.

The result is that water shortages and electricity failures becomes part of your normal day to day living. I am of the opinion that the South African government is breeding a nation of mediocrity. We are happy because we have electricity.... not I pay for my electricity and therefor you need to supply it.

I know New Zealand is beautiful but expensive and the salaries are not always as good as in Australia.

Just putting this out there...
For people who are planning trips, I'm seeing a lot of great Cyber Monday deals on flights and international tours.
Some of the trips can be paid with a minimum deposit and then final payment is usually due 8+ weeks prior to departure

Thank you! :) We were out at sea when I took that picture of my wife and the picture of both of us together was taken in St. Thomas.
